YULE DECEMBER 21

Picture
On December 21, for the northern half of the planet, the sun appears to circle the earth directly over the Tropic of Capricorn, twenty-three and half degrees south of the Equator.  At Winter Solstice, Yule, the theme is of the sun's death and re-birth. On the longest night and shortest day we respect our experiences with darkness and pray for the light.

Time has come to transform your alter for the Sabbat Yule.

SIMPLE ALTAR LAYOUT

LARGE WHITE CANDLE                       LARGE RED CANDLE
GODDESS                                                GOD

CUP                   FOCUS CANDLE              SALT

WAND                PENTACLE                      INCENSE

 BELL                                                             ATHAME

                           CAULDRON

Clear the autumn decorations.  Drape the alter in a red cloth and trim with pinecones, evergreen boughs, holly and mistletoe.

Dust the candles, as well as the elemental tools, and then return to their proper place.

Adorn your Yule altar with three acorns to increase your magic.

Frankincense, for warmth and love, along with myrrh, for protection in the incense holder to be burned.

Powdered mistletoe, the herb can heal all ailments, and is a symbol for fertility can be sprinkled on the focus candle's flame, to add to your magic.

     PRAYER TO SPIRIT GUIDE:

BLESS THIS TIME,

BLESS THIS PLACE,

AS I OPEN MY HEART,

TO LOVE AND COMPASSION,

AS I OPEN MY MIND

TO HIGHER UNDERSTANDING.

Work your magic that involves your focus candle.
