Traditional and hereditary witches are found in the British isles and Europe. My great grandmother, Margaret Mary Harris, my father's ancestor, was born in Dublin. She arrived in Canada from England by boat 1912. Unfortunately very little is know of my mother's ancestors' arrival except that the earliest member of her family documented was a female, born in either the town or county of Berwick, Scotland, in 1799.
My name is Angie Skelhorn and I am a witch. I am descended from women of Europe being a witch and witchcraft is my heritage.
Witchcraft is one of the oldest Nature faiths on our planet. Witches roots are planted in Paganism practice.
The Motherhood of Avalon became The Witches of classical fame - always there, possessing of great wisdom and always held in awe and fear.
In the ancient Greece and the region Thessaly was notorious for its witches. The Greek witch did not belong to a cult and is probably not the ancestor of the witch of late Middle Ages.
In Greek and Roman literature portrayed witches, sorceress or enchantress brewing potions and melting wax to cause and cure impotency, fertility and love.
MAY YOUR BLOOD BOIL WITH PASSION
MAY YOUR SOUL BRIM WITH SPIRITUALITY
There are many traditions within Paganism practice - uniting oneself with the Spirit of other unifying principle of life - Alexandrain, British, Celtic, Dianic, Electric, Guardian, Herdity, Kitchen, Seax-Wicca are only a few paths taken.
The important elements are in the traditions and of the similarities and difference among them.
The main tradition and belief is Earth related and the natural, nature ritual and reincarnation philosophy; herbal medicine and ruled based on Sun/Moon worship and the belief in immortality of Soul.
Witches have always sought to understand their place in nature and have a kinship with other living things. This is reflected in our practice to invoke Spirits, perform spells and incantations. Witches with their inner energy, skillfully blends with nature's forces to produce positive, visible change. Witches direct their inner energies toward a good purpose, not to harm. There is a strong commitment to Goddessess and Gods knowing they are equal and exist together in everything on this earth.
The distinguishing character of witches is they apply their abilities to influence in favourable ways. All around the world witches gather at the exact same time, New and Full Moon, and the seasonal changes for the same purpose, to attract peace, contentment and a brighter future for themselves, others, planet earth, plants, animals, and insects.
Witchcraft is both a belief and behavior to improve the quality of life.
In general Witches practice Earth magic and honor Goddesses and Gods. They worship and personify the sun, moon, earth, fire, wind and water. There is an understanding everything is connected and compose of energy that can be tapped into to support positive or negative change to occur. There is a belief that the world of the living and the dead co-exist. Witches will seek help and protection from friends and family who have passed.
Rule of Conduct:
An ye harm none, do what ye will. As a witch you do not want to hurt yourself, your family or others.
Merry we'll meet and merry we'll part and merry may we meet again. And merry will be the company.

The life structure evolves through a relatively orderly sequence that consists of a series of alternating stable periods, structure-building and transitional periods, structure-changing.
These periods shape our lives:
Age of Humans:
baby to 4 growth
5 to 14 education
15 to 22 early adulthood transition - emotions rule
22 to 28 entering the adult world - virility
28 to 33 age 30 transition
33 to 40 settling down
40 to 45 mid-life transition - ambition
45 to 50 entering middle adulthood
50 to 55 age 50 transition
55 to 60 culmination of mid-life adulthood
60 to 65 late-adulthood transition - reflection
65+ late adulthood
70 to 99 submission
During these periods we all experience hope, love, passion, dreams, fortune, commerce, anger, frustrations, sorrows, fatality, catastrophes discord and treachery. There are beginning and endings of behaviours, situations and relationships. Everyone experiences life changes-relationships, career, health, birth and death. There is an interrelationship of all life - uniformity, unity, singleness.
KNOW THY SELF --- we are different
Know thy self was the meaning of Greek maxium Gnothi Seauton, which was inscribed above the entrance to the ancient temple of Apollo at Delphi.
Know Thyself - To know our own strengths and weaknesses is perhaps one of the hardest bits of knowledge to acquire, but it is certainly one of the most worthwhile. In it lies a good deal of our own happiness-and that of all those around us.
The classical philosopher Socrates professed a deep concern with the idea of self knowledge expressed in this saying Know Thyself, and the theory one may be guided by an inner voice. Your conscience is your guide - consciousness of the moral right and wrong of one's own acts or motives. Guided by one's own sense of right and wrong.
What's correct for you,
May not be for another.
Live as you please,
Greek ethics inscribed on the Temple of Apollo at Delphi:
* nothing too much
* know thyself
* aid friends
* control anger
* avoid unjust acts
* acknowledge the sacred
* pursue learning
* praise virtue
* avoid enemies
* cultivate kinsmen
* pity supplicants - address in prayer
* accomplish your limit
* when you err, repent
* appreciate your time
* accept old age
