The Hawthorn
On the Celtic calendar, May 13 to June 9, is the month of the Hawthorn tree.
The Hawthorn is known as the Whitethorn in the Cad Goddeu, the Battle of the Trees and is ranked as a peasant: THE UNBELOVED WHITETHORN WHO WEARS THE SAME SUIT.
The Hawthorn is a small tree of the rose family which bears white and pink blossoms called May blossoms. In God form, the tree is portrayed as Rhiannon which means,” Great Queen."
In the Tarot deck the Hawthorn tree is represented by the Major Arcana card, Judgment; individual debts accumulated and worked through to determine the future. The Judgment card says this is the time to make an important change, to evaluate past actions, and become aware of personal actions. The present is a product of the past, and the future is an effect of the present.
SUGGESTED ACTIVITY
Tools needed-lavender and orchid petals, to learn the secrets of love.
stick of lavender incense
small yellow beeswax candle to represent clarity,
wisdom and healing
Night Night of the Full Moon spread the petals in a circle around, with you in the center. Place the small yellow beeswax candle in a holder in the north position, then sit. Light the wick and concentrate on the dancing flame. Request Spirit Guide to assist in slowing down your thoughts, to think positive before making judgments.
By acknowledging a negative behavior pattern the behavior could be addressed and consciously changed.
