Mother Shipton was a Yorkshire witch who prophesied about future events in the form of poems.
Her prophecies predicted the fates of several rulers within and just after her lifetime - the invention of iron ships, Great Fire of London in 1666, the defeat of the Spanish Armada... and even the end of the world!
Janet Ursula Southiel (Southill), more popularly known as Mother Ursula Shipton, lived in Yorkshire England from 1488-1561. She became quite well known the accuracy of her visions with some pertaining to modern times including descriptions of the radio, television, airplanes, and World Wars, and even possibly World War III.
I Prophesy: Mother Shipton's Visions
The most famous claimed edition of Mother Shipton's prophecies foretells many modern events and phenomena. Widely quoted today as if it were the original, it contains over a hundred prophetic rhymed couplets in notably non-16th-century language and includes the now-famous lines:
The world to an end shall come
In eighteen hundred and eighty one.
However, this version did not appear in print until 1862, and its true author, one Charles Hindley, subsequently admitted in print that he had invented it. This invented prophecy has appeared over the years with different dates and in (or about) several countries (for example in the late 1970s many news articles about Mother Shipton appeared setting the date at 1981). The 1920s (subsequently much reprinted) booklet The Life and Prophecies of Ursula Sontheil better known as Mother Shipton stated the date as 1991.
Among other well-known lines from Hindley's fake version (often quoted as if they were original) are:
A Carriage without a horse shall go;
Disaster fill the world with woe...
In water iron then shall float,
As easy as a wooden boat.
The crystal ball glimmered with an iridescence of days of future past. The nearby flickering candles threw shadows of things yet to be upon the orbs crystalline matrix. The prophet, withered and aged, breathed deeply of the smokey air and continued to gaze deeply into the heart of the crystal. Deep within his brain, universal connections that bind us all in a web of wholeness are stimulated by the hypnotic shapes that danced faintly in the ball.
Time and space are one and all information contained within reality are available to those who can master their intellect and allow the stream of information to be downloaded directly into the brain -- bypassing the rational mind that would block anything received through such unconventional methods. The prophet sighs in contentment.
A crystal ball is a crystal or glass ball believed by some people to aid in the performance of clairvoyance. It is sometimes known as ashew stone (or show stone— "shew" is an archaic spelling of "show").
A body of water, either in a container or on the ground, used for this purpose, is called a scrying pool.
The Magical Crystal Ball
Use the magic of the crystal ball to predict your future.
Art of scrying
Main articles: Scrying and Crystal gazing
The art or process of "seeing" is known as "scrying", whereby images are claimed to be seen in crystals, or other media such as water, and are interpreted as meaningful information. The "information" gleaned then is used to make important decisions in one's life (i.e. love, marriage, finances, travel, business, etc.).
By contrast, some professed seers say that they do not actually see images in the crystal itself, but rather that the featureless interior of the stone facilitates them in clearing their mind of distractions so that future truths or events will become known to them.
When the technique of scrying is used with crystals, or any transparent body, it is known as crystallomancy or crystal gazing.
In England, Scotland, Wales, and Ireland a succession of Witchcraft Acts have governed witchcraft and provided penalties for its practice, or (in later years) for pretending to practice it.
June 1st - Witchcraft Act of 1563 takes effect in England.
Until the year of 1951, English laws were strictly prohibiting witchcraft and other similar practices like acts of magic, or consulting with the spirit world. The most important act in the history of England’s witchcraft laws and penalty is without a doubt, the one that came into action on the 1st of June 1563. So, on this day all Wicca and Paganism followers mark the beginning of a long history of accusations and penalties for all of those found guilty of witchcraft and spiritualism in the UK.
There has never been a single law in the U.S prohibiting acts of witchcraft. In 1692, when the Salem witch trials took place, the United States were still a part of the British colonies.
Witchcraft Act 1542
Religious tensions in England during the 16th and 17th centuries resulted in the introduction of serious penalties for witchcraft. Henry VIII's Act of 1542 (33 Hen. VIII c. 8) was the first to define witchcraft as a felony, a crime punishable by death and the forfeiture of the convicted felon's goods and chattels. It was forbidden to:
... use devise practise or exercise, or cause to be devysed [sic] practised or exercised, any Invovacons or cojuracons [sic] of Sprites witchecraftes enchauntementes or sorceries to thentent [sic?] to fynde [sic] money or treasure or to waste consume or destroy any persone [sic] in his bodie membres, or to pvoke [provoke] any persone to unlawfull love, or for any other unlawfull intente or purpose ... or for dispite of Cryste, or for lucre of money, dygge up or pull downe any Crosse or Crosses or by such Invovacons or cojuracons of Sprites witchecraftes enchauntementes [sic] or sorceries or any of them take upon them to tell or declare where goodes stollen [sic?] or lost shall become ...
The Act also removed a right known as benefit of clergy from those convicted of witchcraft, a legal device that spared anyone from hanging who was able to read a passage from the Bible. This statute was repealed by Henry's son, Edward VI, in 1547.

Scottish Witchcraft Act 1563
Under the Scottish Witchcraft Act 1563 both the practice of witchcraft and consulting with witches were capital offences. This Act stayed on Scottish statute books until repealed as a result of a House of Lords amendment to the bill for the post-union Witchcraft Act 1735.

In the beginning by the light of the Full Moon Frankie connects with Candice's energy through dream time and witnesses her involvement in a terrifying act of violence. After receiving information from Sandra that their childhood friend is missing they pack their bags and then head to the inner city to find her.
Frankie, afraid for her own safety has a chance encounter with a local named Calvin who is plugged into what's happening. Using his workable ideas as well as Frankie and Sandra consulting tarot, ordinary playing cards, astrology, and spell-casting, they set forth to free Candice from the dangerous situation she is in.
People often think clairvoyants are special beings endowed with fabulous powers. And the fact is, clairvoyants really are people who have psychic gifts. But they’re also made out of flesh and blood, which gives rise to their distinctive characteristic of developing certain abilities aside from their gift of clairvoyance. In my (Tara) case: sensitivity, intuition, joy and hope.
Although clairvoyants and other people capable of predicting the future do possess a special gift, they are also human beings, with material cares, who also happen to be extremely sensitive, much more than average. That enables them to ‘‘feel things’’ ahead of time.
But psychics live in the same world as you, and need to pay their rent, their bills, and buy food. Despite their powers, if you passed a psychic on the street, you probably wouldn't even notice them.
To be able to practice divination effectively, having an extra-sensorial gift isn't enough. You also need to develop the human qualities that enable you to express your psychic, extra-sensorial abilities. You should also know that there are different types of clairvoyance and prediction.
To put it briefly, I would say that some psychics devote themselves to Good, and others to Evil. But basically all psychics, both positive and negative, possess the same parapsychic gifts, and use the same supports:
• crystal balls
• the Tarot (usually the Tarot of Marseille)
• palm reading
• tea leaves, coffee grounds…
Or no support at all, like me (Tara).
I rely mainly on my direct connection with the astral world and its vibrations to formulate my predictions. I sometimes study a person’s astrological chart, because astrology is an extraordinary tool to help make some predictions even more accurate.
You need to develop human qualities of the Heart
When a psychic’s intentions are benevolent, they rely on the luminous qualities of human nature to help others find happiness. As far as I’m concerned, I rely on four main forces:
• my sensitivity
• my intuition
• my joy
• and my hope.
My sensitivity and my intuition enable our vibratory connection
My sensitivity enables me to “connect” to anyone who asks for my help. However, I never enter anyone’s mind without being asked first.
The fact that someone solicits my help acts like a key that gives me access to their past, present and future.
I can see a person’s life unfolding before my eyes from beginning to end. Better still, I can feel their emotions.
My intuition enables me to see what’s wrong in a person’s life, and to know, even before they ask me, why they are soliciting my help.
Joy dissolves negative vibrations
Joy creates positive vibrations and disperses negative energy, no matter how strong it is. That’s why I encourage you to be joyful and love life as much as possible.
These qualities will help you overcome all obstacles. If you can live your life with maximum enthusiasm, you’ll be able to resolve your problems much more easily.
The fourth quality I developed, along with my sensitivity, intuition and joy, is hope, which is essential for happiness and success.
You always need to be hopeful. As the saying goes, ‘‘Hope keeps you alive.’’ If, deep down, you’re hoping for a better life, you’ll never give up trying to attain it.
Hope is firmly anchored in me because, among all the different paths available to the people who consult me, there’s always one that leads to a happy outcome, if they know how to seize it.
In addition to all these qualities, putting your whole heart into whatever you do will open wide the doors to a fabulous life for you.
Since the beginning of the world women have been irresistibly drawn to jewels. When we wear lovely gems we feel that we look our prettiest and most prosperous. It's not just an idea, either - for jewels, as everyone knows, really do bring luck.
Not every jewel to every woman, of course. Good fortune is always more individual and specialized than that. There are twelve signs of the Zodiac, corresponding wit the twelve months of the year and each sign has a special gem associated with it, bestowing on those who wear it a particular kind of luck.
Generally speaking, too, the color of the Zodiac stone which is extra becoming to the type of woman born under the corresponding sign. So that, from all points of view, there is no better way of choosing your particular gem than by the month in which you were born.
The stone and the special luck which it brings are given in the traditional rhythms set below. Remember, however, that the Zodiac months don't correspond exactly with the calendar months, but run from about the 21st to the 24th. Beside each month, in brackets, you will find the period it covers. There is often an overlap of a few days at the time the signs change and if your birthday, comes between the 20th and 24th of any month you may find that either the stone for the period just ending or that for the period just beginning may be correct within a day or two.
In this case adopt as yours the jewel of the two for which you have a decided preference and feel happiest wearing.
Note also regarding lucky gems that the good fortune they bring is greatest if they are worn touching the skin. For this reason your Birth Stone should be mounted as a pendant, bracelet or ring rather than as a brooch or clip. If your engagement ring contains your Birth Month Stone, your marriage should be specially blessed by Fate.
EACH MONTH'S BIRTH STONE

Who on this world of ours their eyes
In March first open, shall be wise,
In days of peril strong and brave,
And wear a Bloodstone to their grave.
- bloodstone a semi-precious stone which is dark green with red spots like bloodstains. Its name may be due to this or that fact that in olden times it was believed to stop bleeding. In consequence many soliders carried it to staunch their wounds. It is not a pretty stone for a girl to wear, but it is a mascot for warding off illness and accidents. It also brings courage to its wearer.

Book Of Fortune Telling - originally published in 1951 by C. Arthur Pearson Limited as 'Complete Fortune Telling'
Although the predominant theory explaining the disappearance of dinosaurs is the impact of a meteorite colliding with the Earth, the fact remains that even this catastrophe didn’t make them disappear overnight.
The original impact of the meteorite may have killed thousands of dinosaurs, but other species on Earth didn’t disappear, otherwise we wouldn’t be here right now. Did the dinosaurs disappear because they didn’t know how to adapt to change?
After the initial explosion of this famous meteorite, which scientists claim happened in Siberia, it took a while for the dinosaurs to become extinct. The clouds of dust that resulted from the impact took years to spread through the atmosphere, eventually leading to the extinction of the great beasts.
The real reason for the dinosaurs’ disappearance wasn’t the explosion itself, but what happened over the next few hundred years, as the deadly dust spread through the air. If it had been the explosion itself, all animal species would have disappeared at the same time.
The real reason why the dinosaurs disappeared was their inability to adapt to the climactic changes that ensued, which I remind you occurred over hundreds of years. Other species like small mammals (our forefathers) did survive because they were continually adapting to their environment through mutation.
A lesson to learn from the disappearance of the dinosaurs
Charles Darwin (1809-1882) said it himself: “It isn’t always the strongest or the most intelligent species that survive, but those that adapt best to change." The British naturalist and father of modern evolution was the first to claim we are descended from a long line of animals, through adaptation. He also set forth a theory to explain the reasons for the disappearance and survival of different species inhabiting the Earth at one time or another.
The world is perpetually changing, so why shouldn’t you?
Whether you want it or not, the world is involved in a process of permanent change. Civilizations rise and fall, political regimes come and go, lifestyles are altered, new ideas replace time-worn principles. From these examples we could conclude that the greatest principle in life is “permanent change.”
If you take a look at your own life, from the time you were born to the present, you’ll see that you too have been constantly changing. And there’s nothing you can do to stop the transformation… except adapt!
Adapting has nothing to do with being trendy!
This is an important point: adapting doesn’t mean getting hooked on fads. Being “trendy” is a superficial attitude that often denotes general instability and a complete lack of values. Adapting to change demands serious reflection and in-depth analysis of the advantages and disadvantages of each option. You need to learn to determine which of your old ideas are still valid in the new situations life presents to you. And that can only be accomplished if you take time to analyze your options from different angles.
Adapting, unlike being trendy, requires lasting and fundamental choices that will ultimately result in your success or failure.
Qualities you need to adapt
If you want to be able to adapt to a world that’s changing more and more rapidly, you need to cultivate certain virtues and qualities that are indispensable for permanently transforming your life. Without them nothing is possible.
The first thing you have to do is be open-minded and start asking yourself some serious questions. Intellectual curiosity and the constant search for new information will lead you to new truths.
No one is the sole keeper of Truth. You may think you know the truth, but you could be wrong. No one possesses the absolute Truth.
Black Moon is a reference to one of four astronomical events involving new or dark moons. There is a range of, often contradictory, definitions of a black moon, some suggesting it is when there are two dark cycles of the moon in any given calendar month, and others where no full moon is present in a calendar month, being contradictory as one can only ever happen in a February, and the other can only ever occur in any other month. It is treated by Wicca as a powerful astrological period in which any magical works performed would be more effective.
It has also occasionally been applied to at least four different situations:
1. The second occurrence of a new moon in a calendar month.
Notes - Cannot occur in February. Analogous to the common calendrical definition of a blue moon for months with two full moons.
2. The third new moon in a season that has four of them.
Notes - Analogous to the Farmers' Almanac definition of a blue moon for seasons with four full moons.
3. The absence of a full moon in a calendar month.
Notes - Can only occur in February, thus January and March will each have a second full moon (a calendrical blue moon).
4. The absence of a new moon in a calendar month.
Notes - Can only occur in February, thus January and March will each have a second new moon (see definition 1).

Thank you for coming to my site.
Wiccans and Pagans have an animal companion that they consider their familiar. A familiar is part of the family.
A familiar is often defined as an animal with whom we have a magical connection. If an animal has appeared in your life unexpectedly -- such as a stray cat that appears regularly, for instance -- it's possible that the animal may have been drawn to you magickally!
