The Wounded Healer

9/24/2014

You may find yourself in a moral dilemma, but you shouldn't waver from pressure. Sometimes we have to follow our gut when it comes to dealing with certain situations and people.
Picture
Between September 28th and October 11th, the "minor planet" Chiron will be making a powerful aspect to the planetary "God of War" Mars.

What this means for you is nothing less than a chance to heal your inner warring nature. But... if you are unprepared for this extraordinary astral frequency, you could be putting yourself at risk.

For those who are not awakening to their True Astral Nature, such a potent force could also spell disaster. This is because the "shadow" side of the upcoming Chiron-Mars transit is all about anger, hate, frustration and of course, war.

So the key is to be prepared. How? By aligning yourself with the powers of inner healing.

Because when you do this one thing, you take command of the frequencies and direct them toward the highest good... instead of letting the forces of negativity and war overrun your life!

Now, in order to make sense of all this, it’s important to recognize the vibrational influence of the planet Mars.

You see, Mars is not just a "God of War". Mars, in its high vibrational frequency, is all about defending a worthy cause. Mars is the Noble Warrior when aligned with the high vibrational frequency of healing.

That’s why, when you commit to healing now you actually protect yourself from the "shadow Mars"... the Mars that’s run amok due to unchecked fear, resentment and anger.

The question is: "How can you ensure you align with healing and not danger?"

After all, we all have old wounds, pains, resentments and frustrations that can really bring us down? Of course we do!

Most of the time, we can live with these "unhealed wounds" – just like the mythic Chiron did. But there are times when "putting up with the pain" can send us into a tirade... or draw unwanted, angry, or even dangerous people to us.

Align with the healing power of Chiron and overcome the "inner War" holding you back!

A "Minor Planet" called Chiron

An extraordinary healing frequency is on its way to planet Earth!

Thanks to a powerful astral alignment in the coming weeks, you will have the opportunity to put yourself in a positively unique position.

In fact, this alignment promises great gifts to those who are prepared.

Did you know that since 1977, astrologers have been studying the dynamic healing forces behind a "minor planet" called Chiron?

Not exactly a planet, and not exactly an asteroid, Chiron is a kind of "hybrid"... much like its namesake mythic demi-god, who was half-horse and half-man.

In fact, both the myth and the heavenly body share the same title... "Centaur".

Now, as you may know, many of the heavenly bodies are named after ancient Greek and Roman gods. There’s Venus of course, Goddess of love and beauty. And there’s Saturn, Jupiter, Mercury... and the God of War... Mars...

http://globalgoddess.org/oracle/first_fruits_2010/angie
http://globalgoddess.org/oracle/fallequinox2010/angie
http://globalgoddess.org/oracle/samhain_2010/myth

In all cases, what we’ve found over the centuries is that the names of these planets are shockingly accurate to the astral influences they have in our lives!

You see, in the coming weeks, the Earth will receive potent healing energies, thanks to an uncommon astral alignment. But before I explain these to you, it’s important understand the story behind Chiron and his healing energies...

Picture
In Greek mythology, Chiron's mother was a water nymph who, while trying to run from Zeus' amorous overtures, turned herself into a horse. She did not escape, however, and Zeus impregnated her. When she gave birth, she was shocked to see that her newborn was half horse, half boy. The mother was so terrified that she prayed to the gods to be changed into a tree. Her wish was granted. Thus, both of Chiron's parents abandoned him. Instead of dwelling on that, though, he became a skilled teacher and healer. One day, while he was handing a poisoned arrow to a student, it dropped and pierced his leg. Since his father was a god, he was immortal, so he could not die. In terrible pain, he prayed to the gods to let him die. They, in gratitude for his teachings, let him out of his misery and placed him in the sky.

Chiron is the wounded healer. This planetoid is for everyone who, rather than giving in to despair amid their own suffering, reaches out so others will not have to experience the pain they've felt. Many people who have had a painful childhood grow up to be psychiatrists or therapists so that they can help other people get through the same things that hurt them. Parents who have lost children to drunk drivers go on to form support groups so that other parents know they are not alone. These people feel the influence of charitable Chiron. It can be healing for a person to help others cope with a pain that they themselves have lived through.

Picture
Indeed it was Chiron who was the teacher of all of Greek mythology’s greatest warriors: Achilles, Jason, and even Asclepius – the god of medicine. He taught these great heros the arts of war... but he also taught them the arts of healing.

You see, Chiron had to learn about healing out of necessity... He had been accidentally wounded in the thigh by Hercules with an arrow full of poisonous venom. And because Chiron was a half-god, the venom couldn’t kill him. But it did cause him great suffering.

The wound was unbearably painful – and incurable – which sent Chiron in search of relief. This is how he became the Master Healer... the Wounded Healer.

What does this mean to you?

It means is that when Chiron has influence in your life... as it will in the weeks ahead... there’s an opportunity for you to heal old wounds and help others!

Between September 28-October 11 the forces of healing will be strongly activated. This is a window of opportunity for you to activate healing in your life.

But in order to take advantage of these powerful forces soon to be upon us, you must be ready. You must be able to take advantage of these powerful healing forces at play in the heavens. It could make the difference between your life’s inner peace... or inner turmoil!

Chiron’s soon-to-come influences are all about healing a very specific frequency... the inner warring nature of humanity. The chance to heal the wounds of anger, rage, fury and frustration will be activated.

A short descripition:

Sharing our stories is one of our most empowering gifts. In this issue, we have gathered stories of renewal, recovery, and recovery that we hope will brings those qualities to you, our beloved readers.

Have you ever walked a labyrinth? Jen McConnell finds wisdom — and challenge — in "Walking a Spiral Path." Finding community in a yearly gathering, Jamie Martinez Wood shares her joyous journey of renewal and rebirth in "The Healing Cloak of Womanhood."

Sometimes, what we need for our own renewal is simply a place that is solely our own. Writer Clara Oropeza dedicates a tiny shed to her writing, and shares her experience in "At Hestia's Hearth." Deborah Baudin finds her own voice at last in her story, "Switching Tracks," while Freya Velander puts her terrifying dreams to rest when she travels to her ancestor’s homeland in "Safe in Freya's Arms."

Picture

Although most of these stories are gentle, this issue's goddess is anything but meek and mild. Diana Paxson examines the mythology, ritual, and presence of the often-terrifying Hindu goddess in "Kali Ma: Dancing in the Dark."

Our regular columnists bring their own healing voices to this issue: herbalist Susun Weed teaches us to welcome fairies; Alison Leigh Lilly describes her child-free life and how she midwives the lives of others; Janet Callahan describes how mothering her medically-fragile children requires her to be open to change in her family's lives.

Picture
When Donna Henes needed catharsis one summer a decade ago, she found herself on the beach in a Summer Solstice ritual to Yemaya, while Lizann Bassham spins a story of how encounters with rattlesnakes have informed her journey into Cronehood and Anne Hill offers a cautionary tale of how healing can bring unexpected (even traumatic) life changes.

Danielle Blackwood teaches how astrology illuminates our life passages; Crystal Blanton shares her path to justice; thealogian Nancy Vedder-Shults muses on how primal nature re-enchants our lives, Leslie Linder describes the ancient magic of honeybees; and our goddess-cook Teresa Marbut weaves a sweet river song with a recipe dedicated to Oshun.

Picture
Plus goddess-poetry, reviews of books, music, and oracle decks, and the wonderful voices of our readers in our "readers write" department, the Rattle. We end with a meditation on a healing move from the busy city to a remote country farmstead by Liz Bohm. What a lovely, healing, magical issue!

Over the course of the last several decades, the Neo-Pagan movement has grown and changed dramatically. Where have we been and, more importantly, where are we headed? Mother Shipton's Visions

7/18/2014

Mother Shipton was a Yorkshire witch who prophesied about future events in the form of poems.

Her prophecies predicted the fates of several rulers within and just after her lifetime - the invention of iron ships, Great Fire of London in 1666, the defeat of the Spanish Armada... and even the end of the world!

http://www.mothershipton.co.uk/story

Janet Ursula Southiel (Southill), more popularly known as Mother Ursula Shipton, lived in Yorkshire England from 1488-1561. She became quite well known the accuracy of her visions with some pertaining to modern times including descriptions of the radio, television, airplanes, and World Wars, and even possibly World War III.

I Prophesy: Mother Shipton's Visions
http://www.visiontv.ca/videos/i-prophesy-mother-shiptons-visions/

Prophecies

The most famous claimed edition of Mother Shipton's prophecies foretells many modern events and phenomena. Widely quoted today as if it were the original, it contains over a hundred prophetic rhymed couplets in notably non-16th-century language and includes the now-famous lines:

The world to an end shall come
In eighteen hundred and eighty one.[6]

However, this version did not appear in print until 1862, and its true author, one Charles Hindley, subsequently admitted in print that he had invented it.[7] This invented prophecy has appeared over the years with different dates and in (or about) several countries (for example in the late 1970s many news articles about Mother Shipton appeared setting the date at 1981[citation needed]). The 1920s (subsequently much reprinted) booklet The Life and Prophecies of Ursula Sontheil better known as Mother Shipton[8] stated the date as 1991.[9][10]

Among other well-known lines from Hindley's fake version (often quoted as if they were original) are:

A Carriage without a horse shall go;
Disaster fill the world with woe...
In water iron then shall float,
As easy as a wooden boat.[6]

Making a Living, Making a Life

Here we go again -- it's a crescendo of the ongoing cosmic big squeeze, and with very active, cardinal forces.  The Full Moon is at 20 degrees Capricorn on July 12th at 7:25 am EDT.

There's raw, instigating Aries and Mars energy, but the tones belted out in this opera of change come from deep soulful repositories and concern the big questions.  A peak of theCapricorn instinct, with the Full Moon, spins around themes of life's work and/or calling.

Full Moon in Capricorn Motif:   Deep embodiment, celebrating the sensual, the power of the rooted, investing in what's worthy, demonstrating mastery, dignity, enduring and worldly. Light shines on areas of life's work, mentoring, authority, legacy, lineage, natural law, maturation, traditions. This is serious moonlight for epiphanies about the most longed-for aspirations, which are often ones that take time and effort over many years.

Grand Cross!

The angles to the luminaries (Sun and Moon) foretell a mortal struggle to persevere through the crisis of growth. All four elements are in full force.  A grand cross is when the four (chart) corners are activated in a powerful tension.

There's agitating pressure from all sides.  And huge rewards and leaps if you dig down deep, and find hidden reserves of strength .  Your character is fortified by creatively adapting to the demands of the times.  Full Moons are revelatory -- what will be revealed?

By being alert and active in the current ordeals of your life, there's light at the end of the Full Moon tunnel.  The Capricorn Moon is imbued with Pluto's near-supernatural knowing, for potential clear seeing into the shadowy terrain.  What's standing out here, is that it's one to lift out buried treasures within.  And to unlock hidden pockets of pure creativity and vitality.

The overall forecast is for firming up resolve, and growing in your personal authenticity.  In a time of flabby integrity, the one that is determined to live their values, knows true personal power.

Capricorn's ruler Saturn looms large in the Capricorn Full Moon chart with a trine to the Sun (Cancer).  And there's a close-enough bouncing off to Jupiter, also in Cancer.  All this hints at a cosmic conspiracy, to firm up your emotional authenticity factor, as a way of moving forward.

There's a whole lot going on here at the Full Moon.  But one stand-out, is the support for those that put in sincere effort, and push through inner and outer resistance.  And using your various intelligences, especially emotional and practical knowing of what's being experienced "on the ground."

Authority, Authorize, "To Grow"

Capricorn is a cardinal sign, making it all about inventiveness, high impact doings, and the drive to initiate. Capricorn is an earth sign, with an emphasis on the tangible, stable, secure; it inspires resourcefulness, ambition, conservation and patience.

Which house does Capricorn fall in your birth chart?  Read your Capricorn Full Moon forecast by house (life sphere).

Cancer-Capricorn

(Capricorn) is the sign of climbing mountains, and being dedicated to what matters deeply. At the Full Moon, we're drawn into the karma-heavy, rich, musty, earthy caves of the planetary past -- and can find the wisdom of the ages there.

The Cancer-Capricorn opposition blends two signs that draw in what they need, and fiercely resist what they don't want. Both can appear to brood and go deep within, only to end up surrounding themselves with emotional and material structures that are built to last. This Full Moon can root you in the home of the Self and surrounds, where you take stock of what you've got, and what you need. Capricorn is tough love personified, where no means no. And yes is deep commitment.

The Full Moon in this wise old sign takes us to the depths and the peaks. It's a particular kind of sight, one where you might get the thousand yard stare. You're watching with a knowing that includes the intellect, but is so much more.

What's Illuminated?: Earth moving; setting corner stones; plans to flourish; strategy for sustenance into the future; taking control; personal authority; honoring commitments; dedication to what's most valued.

With the Moon in a wide orb merging to Pluto in pre-historic Capricorn, there is a call of the ancients. The instincts of the indigenous soul beat strongly. Tune into something timeless -- deeper and more powerful than the overlay or virtual anxieties of our age. The Capricorn message is to find power in the rich archives of the human story.

A Light On

  • Bucking up for a drawn out transition (culture in flux).
  • Habits of pacing yourself and fortifying a healthy physical constitution.
  • Staying human in a time of fear.
  • "Being joyful though you know all the facts." (Wendell Berry).
  • Gaining cred with yourself -- acquiring skills and making wise use of resources.
  • Musing on your relationship to authority (the state, established power).
  • Closing the loop, so you're more self=sufficient.
  • Living your values.
  • Finding ground to stand on with realistic plans.
  • Rooting in what's substantial.
  • Devotion to the path of authenticity.
  • Putting all your effort into what's most important.

Other names for the July Full Moon:
Mead Moon, Blessing Moon, Full Hay Moon, Lightning Moon, Full Thunder Moon (big storms). Also known as the Full Buck Moon, since it's when new antlers grow out on young bucks, with a coating of velvety fur.

When the Moon is full in Capricorn, the Sun is in the opposite sign of Cancer.

Questions...
  • What are you dedicated to cultivating?
  • What societal values do you venerate? Are you demonstrating these values?
  • Are there gifts from your tradition (family, nation, region) that are valuable seeds to carry forward?
  • What would you like to earn a lifetime achievement award for?
  • Is it time to make a deeper commitment to what you know you came here to do?
