World-renowned Psychic Medium Char Margolis talks about her career and intuitive gift, as well as performs readings that hit close to home for host Fiona Forbes and guest co-host Patrick Maliha
People often think clairvoyants are special beings endowed with fabulous powers. And the fact is, clairvoyants really are people who have psychic gifts. But they’re also made out of flesh and blood, which gives rise to their distinctive characteristic of developing certain abilities aside from their gift of clairvoyance. In my (Tara) case: sensitivity, intuition, joy and hope.
Although clairvoyants and other people capable of predicting the future do possess a special gift, they are also human beings, with material cares, who also happen to be extremely sensitive, much more than average. That enables them to ‘‘feel things’’ ahead of time.
But psychics live in the same world as you, and need to pay their rent, their bills, and buy food. Despite their powers, if you passed a psychic on the street, you probably wouldn't even notice them.
To be able to practice divination effectively, having an extra-sensorial gift isn't enough. You also need to develop the human qualities that enable you to express your psychic, extra-sensorial abilities. You should also know that there are different types of clairvoyance and prediction.
To put it briefly, I would say that some psychics devote themselves to Good, and others to Evil. But basically all psychics, both positive and negative, possess the same parapsychic gifts, and use the same supports:
• crystal balls
• the Tarot (usually the Tarot of Marseille)
• palm reading
• tea leaves, coffee grounds…
Or no support at all, like me (Tara).
I rely mainly on my direct connection with the astral world and its vibrations to formulate my predictions. I sometimes study a person’s astrological chart, because astrology is an extraordinary tool to help make some predictions even more accurate.
You need to develop human qualities of the Heart
When a psychic’s intentions are benevolent, they rely on the luminous qualities of human nature to help others find happiness. As far as I’m concerned, I rely on four main forces:
• my sensitivity
• my intuition
• my joy
• and my hope.
My sensitivity and my intuition enable our vibratory connection
My sensitivity enables me to “connect” to anyone who asks for my help. However, I never enter anyone’s mind without being asked first.
The fact that someone solicits my help acts like a key that gives me access to their past, present and future.
I can see a person’s life unfolding before my eyes from beginning to end. Better still, I can feel their emotions.
My intuition enables me to see what’s wrong in a person’s life, and to know, even before they ask me, why they are soliciting my help.
Joy dissolves negative vibrations
Joy creates positive vibrations and disperses negative energy, no matter how strong it is. That’s why I encourage you to be joyful and love life as much as possible.
These qualities will help you overcome all obstacles. If you can live your life with maximum enthusiasm, you’ll be able to resolve your problems much more easily.
The fourth quality I developed, along with my sensitivity, intuition and joy, is hope, which is essential for happiness and success.
You always need to be hopeful. As the saying goes, ‘‘Hope keeps you alive.’’ If, deep down, you’re hoping for a better life, you’ll never give up trying to attain it.
Hope is firmly anchored in me because, among all the different paths available to the people who consult me, there’s always one that leads to a happy outcome, if they know how to seize it.
In addition to all these qualities, putting your whole heart into whatever you do will open wide the doors to a fabulous life for you.
A new book that has just been released which is titled Biocentrism: How Life and Consciousness Are the Keys to Understanding the Nature of the Universe has caused quite a stir all across the Internet, due to the fact that its subject matter is completely about the idea of life continuing on after death and going on forever. The author of the book is scientist Dr. Robert Lanza and he has been called the third most significant science researcher alive today by the New York Times.
Lanza is considered to be one of the top professionals in the world in regard to regenerative medication and works as a scientist on cell technology. Before this, Dr. Lanza was known for widespread research in which he studied stem cells. He is also known for performing numerous cloning experiments on endangered animals.
However, he decided to get involved with quantum mechanics and astrophysics. Such a combination has given rise to the theory of biocentrism. That is the idea that states both consciousness and life itself are essential to the universe. It is consciousness which has created the physical universe and not the opposite way around as has been believed, according to Lanza.
He states that the entire assembly of the universe, and the constants, forces and even laws of the universe seem to be set up for life, suggesting that some sort of intelligence occurred before any matter was created. He also states that time and space are not things or items, but are instead just tools to help individuals understand the world around them. Lanza explained that people hold time and space close similar to how turtles carry their shells. But when people throw off their shells (time and space disappear) people still live.
Lanza is also a believer of multiple universes. He thinks that even though a person might pass away in one universe, but in another, it can still be alive and well and continues to exist. This idea means that someone who has died would go not to heaven or hell but end up in a world that was similar to the one that he or she once before had lived in but is now again alive. This continues onward indefinitely.
This very controversial theory that is held by Dr. Lanza actually has many supporters and not just plain mortals who are terrified of death, but also some other very well-known scientists as well. These are both physicists and also astrophysicists who happen to say that the presence of parallel worlds and the prospect of multiple universes is a possible concept. The idea of the multiverse or multi-universe is actually a real scientific concept, which many researchers defend. They state that there are no physical laws in existence that disallow any presence of there being the possibility of parallel worlds.
Dr. Hugh Everett, who worked at Princeton University, stated that at any time the universe can divide into any number of endless parallel instances. The very next moment, these brand-new universes split into yet another branch.. In some of these worlds a person might be watching television, in others he or she could be reading a book or even in others that person may not even exist.
What causes the triggers for such universes are peoples own actions. When certain choices are made, in an instant one universe divides into two that have two various outcomes. It is believed that space has many different orbs that allow the rise to similar orbs, and these make even more orbs, and so it goes on and on to infinity. Throughout the universe, they are apart, never knowing of each other but they all signify parts of the very same universe from which they came.
There is data that shows the universe is not alone. Using information from deep space telescopes, scientists have produced an extremely accurate map of microwave backgrounds. These are considered cosmic relics that have stayed around since the beginning of the birth of the universe. They have also discovered the universe contains much dark matter that is represented by gaps and black holes.
With this, many scientists now think there are many places that the soul could go to after death, when studying the idea of neo-biocentrism. Yet this is if one believes the soul actually exists. The scientist Dr. Stuart Hameroff, who is a near-death expert, offers a different description of consciousness that can perhaps appeal to rational scientific minds and also personal clairvoyance.
Hameroff believes that consciousness resides inside microtubules of the brain. These are the main areas of quantum processing. When death occurs, this information is released out of a person’s body, therefore meaning a consciousness is let go as well. Consciousness is believed by these scientists to be an important property of the universe that was present back at the beginning of the universe when the Big Bang occurred.
If such were to be true, then all souls were made from the very fabric of the universe and have existed since the starting of time itself. Human brains would be considered only receivers and amplifiers for the consciousness that is floating around in space and time.
Such accounts of quantum consciousness might start to explain such occurrences such as out of body experiences, near-death experiences, astral projection and possibly reincarnation without the need to bend to any religious philosophy. The energy of consciousness could possibly be recycled over and over into a new body at some time. While it waited, it could stay out of any physical body on some other kind of reality, and even in some kind of other sort of universe.
All these ideas have come to pass due to the new book Biocentrism: How Life and Consciousness Are the Keys to Understanding the Nature of the Universe which has caused quite a stir all across the Internet, due to the fact that its subject matter is completely about the idea of life continuing on after death and going on forever. The author of the book, scientist Dr. Robert Lanza, has been called the third most significant science researcher alive today by the New York Times.

For years now many people have been obsessed with this question, especially since oriental religions, notably Buddhism and Hinduism, started becoming more popular in the west. Followers of these religions, as well as ordinary folks like you and me, are asking themselves about the possibility of reincarnation, which literally means a ‘‘return to the flesh.’’ This faculty of reincarnating a number of times in successive existences is the basis for the belief in previous… and future lives!
A Question That Could Change the Course of Your Life
This kind of self-interrogation is much more important than it may seem, because the ‘way’ in which we die, and whether or not we survive after death, has a direct impact on the way we choose to live our present life.
If you adopt the position of one of the great monotheistic religions (Judaism, Christianity, Islam) you tend to think in a linear fashion. You’re born, you live, and then you die. But if you embrace a belief in past lives, then you think in a more cyclical fashion. You’re born, live and die, then you’re reborn, live again, die again, and so on.
You can see you will not live your life in the same fashion if you think you only live once, then die and disappear. In this case, you believe that after death comes either nothingness, or your entry into Paradise or hell (or their equivalents).
How Many Lives Can We Have?
If you think in terms of reincarnation, then you believe you have many lives. But how many, and until when?
In principle, the number of times you can be reborn and return to Earth is not infinite. It depends on your ability to attain what is called enlightenment – Nirvana, Samadhi, the body of light, the clear light, etc. In short, a state of absolute perfection, where you are completely liberated from all human conditions. When you reach that point of spiritual evolution, there’s no need for you to reincarnate and return to Earth, unless you choose to come back voluntarily, out of compassion. That is the choice made by some, among them saints and other great spiritual masters, to help their fellow human beings who are still on the road to perfection.
Do We Live More Than Once? The Answer: Maybe Yes, Maybe No!
My own opinion is that we have many lives, but I would never try to force anyone to accept that point of view, since the answer depends on each one of us.
Any opinions we may have on this question are a matter of faith and belief. If you believe we only have one life, you’re right! If you think we have many, you’re also right!
As with any belief, nothing (or almost nothing) about it can be proven. It’s simply a matter of personal conviction.
The most important thing: believe in something!
It isn’t important to give credence to any one theory over another. But it is crucial to believe in something, something that helps you live better, make progress, improve yourself, and do good to others.
Both hypotheses (one life or many) are acceptable, as long as they help you improve your life-experience, and be happier here on Earth. Our most precious possession is the life we have now. Whether we live many lives or just one, we can be sure of only one thing: we are alive right now! The past is over, the future hasn't arrived yet, and only the present moment counts.
Whatever you believe in, live your life as best you can right now. Always try to improve yourself, be happy, and help others. In other words, you should try to lead a merry, tranquil existence, sheltered from material need. Live this life as if it were your last or the only one.
Proving the Existence of Past Lives
As far as past lives are concerned, there are a number of disturbing facts. Over the centuries many people have claimed to have lived other lives, and provided various disconcerting but verifiable facts to prove it.
These people say they had one or more lives here on Earth, usually in different countries and in different eras, with different families. Either they earned a living doing something very different from what they do now, or there is a continuity with their present life. Some even claim to have belonged to the opposite sex – men said they’d been a woman, and vice versa!
What Do You Believe In Now?
I’m not forcing anyone to believe anything. It’s up to you to form your own opinion. Whatever you finally choose to believe, the most important thing is what it brings you. If a conviction helps you live better, adopt it. You’ll have all the time you need to verify whether it’s true or not… once you reach the Other Side!
In a Witch's life there are celebrations with festivities other than the eight Sabbats. These are called rite of passage or Wiccaning - when a newborn is presented to the Coven or Deities; Naming Day or Coming of Age - rite of puberty; Handfasting or Jumping the Broom - marriage; Handparting - divorce; and Passing into Summerland or Crossing the Bridge - memorial service.
In a coven setting there are generally prescribed formats for these rites, but in a solitary tradition the observants are much more subject to individuality.
Naming Day - Coming of Age
The Naming Day or Coming of Age ceremony can be simplicity and need not take place during a Sabbat ritual. The young adult heads out on a quest to communicate with nature and their guide for guidance. In natural surroundings the young adult chooses a craft name. Some witches have several Craft names for different circumstances and perhaps a coven name, but it is the working name that is never revealed as it defines the Witch and it is a trust from the Divine.
Waxing to the full moon is usually the best time for this ceremony. Naming Day Rite is traditionally held on January 6th today called Epiphany or Twelfth Night no matter the moon. The Rite of Passage for coming of age can also take place around the child's thirteen birthday.
BIRTHDAYS hold special significance in our lives. Where ever a birthday falls on the calender, the date marks the start of each individuals "New Year." The new day itself is a beginning mixed with magical energy to start new projects, make big moves and receive support and recognition because everyone is naturally attune to your Sun sign.
Coming of Age
Ally, was dressed in her black, winter, wool cape, mitts, and hat, plodded through the deep snow on the frozen ground. The air crisp, frost glistened like diamonds upon the window panes of the neighbouring homes. Excited, she hurried to meet with her grandmother. Today would be no ordinary visit. Ally's grandmother, a wise woman, would prepare her granddaughter for the rite of passage, Coming of Age.
Ally arrived at her grandmother's small cottage by the edge of the woods. Inside, her grandmother greeted her with a hug and a kiss.
"Tell me," the aged woman asked, "do you come of your own free will?"
"Yes Grandma Elmdale, I do," the young girl said, beaming.
The floor boards creaked as Ally slowly followed behind the aged woman to the back of the small building. The room had a cozy feel.
Ally's grandmother sat her plump body in a wrought iron chair at a smoky glass table. She extended her wrinkled hand to offer Ally a seat across from her.
Ally crossed the tiny room and sat. Moments later her Grandma Elmdale spoke. Her words came from the heart and not mere memorization. "Ally, since birth your outlook on life was born from your family's belief. Born to wise women, descended from Europe, witchcraft-Paganism is your heritage. To direct your course, our wisdom has been passed down to you. On the Esbats, the full moon rites and the Sabbats, the change in seasons, you met within sacred space with ancestors, relatives by blood or by marriage, who have passed over to come hither to protect and guide. You were given knowledge, no one is ever alone, and that assistance would always be there.
This birthday you will be thirteen, a magical number for any wise woman. The transition from child to adolescence. This period will be a major turning point. There will be new emotions, big thoughts, and your appearance changes. The rite of passage, Coming of Age, is important to a wise woman. As a child you accepted the ways of the craft because of your family's faith. Now, if you wish to continue with the faith, you must decide for yourself."
Wide eyed, Ally slightly leaned over the smoky glass table, "I do, I do want to continue on the path of the craft," she answered, curiously excited.
"Then you will have to embrace the faith with dedication and personal effort."
Grandma Elmdale rubbed her arthritic knee. She cleared her throat. "The night before your thirteenth birthday, in the midnight hour when the moon is full, you will go on a quest alone into the woods to commune with Spirit. Your decision will be recognized and guidance given," she said.
Ally appeared uncertain. She had accompanied the older women in her family when spirits had been conjured, but she had never attempted the feat on her own. "How am I to do that?" she asked with a lack of assurance.
"With an open heart and mind," her grandmother smiled.
Grandma Elmdale struck a match on the side of the matchbox she held, and then lit a tall white pillar candle, center on the glass table. The yellowy flame rose straight up in an even flow. Ally's grandmother looked deeply into her young eyes. "I would like you to request a biological ancestor to appear with a message of hope. In earth time, people have a way of deteriorating unless one strives to improve. Spirits deteriorate and improve in a timeless, space less realm. Once spiritually fed, hopefully you will have faith in your abilities."
Ally leaned back into her chair, defeated. She hardly knew what to do next. What was asked of her was a completely new experience. Her grandmother sensed she was over come with doubt.
"Don't become distracted by frustration. I know what I ask sounds difficult, but it's not. Believe. Breathe comfortably, relax, and try not to think about anything after you request Spirit to appear. I will assist only if needed," she said with respect.
Ally attempted to do as she was told. She focused on the tall dancing flame. She drew deep breaths of air. After a few moments of quiet thought, Ally spoke. "Here my call, this I pray. Ancestor who resides in the Other World, the Spirit who is close, I request you come hither, please share your knowledge. You who knows all, open my mind, remove the veil of illusion, and appear before me with words of wisdom."
Ally concentrated on the bright blue flame. She became lost in a trance. Slowly, her great, great, great grandmother, who she knew from photos, materialized. The aged woman appeared prudish dressed in her Victorian wear. Ally heard the aged woman say, "You, my dear, never walk alone. Your future is set. Combine intellect with feeling. Life is full of ups and downs. Concentrate on your desired outcome. No challenge will be too great."
In an instant the wick returned to a tall yellowy flame.
Ally's grandmother sat across the table from her with a broad smile on her wrinkled face. She couldn't have been more pleased that her granddaughter’s first attempt to contact Spirit by herself was success.
When Ally left the small cottage at the edge of the woods her grandmother told her not to forget the knowledge given.
Ally shivered from the cold winter wind. She rubbed her wool mittens quickly together. She tapped the toes of her black boots in the snow on the front stoop. She perked up when the sound of hooves came up the drive. Once the enclosed buggies were parked, she jumped from her seat to greet her visitors. Her three cousins, the same age as she, Tory, Arlene, and Kaley, helped their mothers, Annabel, Gabriella and Lena, from their ride.
"Where's your mother?" her Aunt Lena bellowed.
Ally's mother opened the front door, grinning from ear to ear.
When all were inside the kitchen became filled with chatter as they prepared a light meal.
"By the way," Tory said to Ally as she poured herself of cranberry tea, "How was your visit with Grandma?"
"Tell us!" Arlene begged, helping herself to a sandwich from a platter set center on the table.
Ally's mother looked over at her daughter and listened. Ally had a sparkle in her eye. "I was anxious to confront the task that Grandma asked of me. I sat completely still and lost all sense of where I was, when great, great, great grandmother Elmdale materialized. I listened. Her Spirit revealed that which I needed to know. I'm pretty sure I understand her message. I won't be alone a single day of my life. Spirit will always be close by to support."
Ally's mother gave her daughter an encouraging smile.
Kaley couldn't curb her enthusiasm, "During my exchange with Spirit at Grandma Elmdale's cottage I learned to look to nature's cycles, spring, summer, fall and winter, for insight and I too, have support from Spirit."
"My, my, you girls have grown. Your childhood has disappeared before my eyes. I still remember you young ladies as wide-eyed and innocent. When you were first introduced to the basic meaning of the elemental tools, water, fire, wind and earth; the cup, wand, sword and pentacle; the cosmic order and our history through myths to help shape the course of your development," said Gabriella.
Lena interrupted. "If you cease to practice the craft you could become oblivious to your heightened awareness. You may lose the connection with Spirit who acts directly as an advisor. As a teenager, your imagination and wonder could disappear. The outside environment may change the way you think, act, and communicate. You begin to spend most of your time trying to fit in with your peers and this is when a struggle to maintain self-identity, take roots."
Annabel’s voice was lively, "Spirits of our ancestors are our guides and supporters. When one chooses to commune with those who dwell in the Other World, information is given to help live life with an open heart, and mind."
"Tory, Arlene, Kaley, and Ally, this upcoming eve of the full moon will set the stage for your rite of passage," Lena announced. "Arlene, my daughter, you advance in on the north of the great forest; Ally, east, Kaley, the south, and Tory, west, with empowered charms and chants for a Coming of Age ritual, to meet with your personal Spirit guide."
"Wise women," Gabriella added, "gain wisdom through Spirit connection."
Ally looked at the older woman. "You want us to venture outdoors around midnight on the eve of the full moon...alone...to summon Spirit?" she whispered
"Yes," her mother answered. "You each must independently explore your faith to find confidence, conquer fear, to become more secure with self."
Gabriella filled the sink with hot soapy water and washed the dishes used.
"Mom," Kaley asked, "is great, great, great grandmother Elmdale the Spirit guide for all of us?"
"I really couldn't say," Gabriella answered her child. "You need to experience the rite for yourself to know who watches over you."
"More than a voice of reason will be revealed," Annabel smiled.
Ally's relatives stood outside in the icy wind. Her cousins helped their mother's board their ride ”You have little time left to prepare for your Coming of Age ritual; use the time wisely," Gabriella said, closing the door. Ally waved goodbye to them when the horses headed down the drive.
EVE OF FULL MOON
Ally's home, usually filled with chatter about their day's events, was silent. Lost to her thoughts, she looked out the kitchen window. The daylight faded to the dark night. Her father was in the barn finishing the last milking. Her mother rested quietly by the fire, rocking lightly back and forth and read from the family's Book of Shadows.
"Ally," she said over her shoulder, "it's time to prepare for your quest."
After Ally enjoyed a hot salt bath, she dressed, pulled her black woollen cape over her shoulders, and then rushed out the front door into the dark night. Even though a bright full moon shone, she held a lantern with a flame burning bright to assist her on her journey.
Ally followed the cow path in the pasture, over a hill, past the frozen pond. The trees were before her. She walked through the sleepy forest until she came upon her destination. In the distance she could see the faint glow of light from the lanterns used by Tory, Arlene and Kaley.
Ally knelt on her long wool cape in the snow. She took a moment to compose what she wanted to say. She stilled herself, breathing deep breaths into her lungs, then exhaling. She spoke loud and clear into the cold air. "I know myself, I am my thoughts, I am the actions I perform. I live in joy, I acknowledge the beauty within and marvel in the beauty that surrounds. I come to you, Spirit Guide, of my own free will. My heart is open, my head is clear, my feet are planted. Spirit, on this most magical night I pledge myself to the ways of the craft. To harm none, nor self, intentionally. I kneel before you, come hither and guide. I pray for guidance...I pray for guidance..."
The faint murmur of chants from her cousins rode the wind through the wintry forest.
Ally continued to chant. She had faith an ancestor who passed over would arrive.
Minutes later the veil of illusion between the physical and Other World evaporated. A solid, round sphere glimmered, and increased in brightness. The vision of a stern aged woman, grey hair tied in a tight bun, appeared. The wrinkled woman wearing a black, tight fitting, long sleeved, black corset with a shawl trimmed with lace, draped over her shoulders. Her long, dark skirt flowed to the snow, covering the ground.
Ally was pleased and excited. By her own free will she accomplished her goal. She beheld her great, great, great grandmother Elmdale, floating toward her. With an aged voice, calm, and thought through, the Spirit spoke. "My great, great, great granddaughter, the answer to your quest is you are a wise woman. The energy of the Universe courses through your veins. Bend and shape that which you want to bring to reality. Don't be afraid of who you are or you will never live. Stay true to the ways of the craft. You hold your fate in the palm of your hand. Your destiny, you will arrive and find the truly unique individual you are."
Once Spirit provided reassurance and guidance she entirely disappeared.
Ally sat amazed. There was nothing unusual about a Spirit materializing. She'd seen the older wise women in her family conjure relatives who had died. She was amazed because she invoked her great, great, great grandmother Elmdale all on her own.
She stood in the snow, falling. A full moon lit the dark night. With a skip in her in her step she made her way home.

Wiccans and Pagans have an animal companion that they consider their familiar. A familiar is part of the family.
A familiar is often defined as an animal with whom we have a magical connection. If an animal has appeared in your life unexpectedly -- such as a stray cat that appears regularly, for instance -- it's possible that the animal may have been drawn to you magickally!
