We all live in a specific location. We have certain activities, we’re surrounded by certain people, and we all lead a certain kind of life. Among the people you know, your friends are very important, whether you have one or many.

First you have to know who your real friends are, and differentiate them from simple acquaintances. The best time to do that is when things get tough.

An acquaintance will always find an excuse for not helping you out, or coming to see you. But a real friend will always be there to offer comfort and come to your aid, sometimes even before you call on them!

You don’t have to wait for something terrible to happen to know who would help you when you have a problem. Think about the people around you, and those you consider your friends. Then imagine a difficult situation, and try to figure out who you’d be able to count on under such difficult circumstances.

Draw up a list of who you think your real friends are, and then be straight with them. Above all, don’t let minor arguments ruin a great friendship.

Before you start a fight with someone and say things you may regret later on, think hard and ask yourself whether the friendship you have is really worth sacrificing because you’re angry.

If the answer is no, do what’s necessary to reconcile with the other person, whose help and support you’ll need one day. Also let them know they can count on you at any time.

Another is a mystery; but the experience that one (who is also a mystery) enjoys with another is an additional mystery.  Every person-man, woman, or child-is a beauty waiting to be discovered, uncovered, revealed so that we might respond with our own mystery.

At times we are granted something like a mystic vision...We have found the soul in its seclusion and simplicity-so we think...The vision in fact begins to work upon us; we cannot forget it: we no longer attend to it with voluntary efforts, but it forms a part of our consciousness and begins to make us over after its own pattern, as if it were active and we were plastic before it.

A love experience is a mystery unfathomable to exclusively problem-oriented persons.  It demands a Yes or a No and will not be denied a response.  By it universes are opened up to us as we learn anew the excitement of discovery, not only of the mystery which is self, the another-for-another.  Schelling's man who's animal amans (the loving animal) reveals himself and accepts revelation in the experience of love.

The constant presence of the beloved, even though space may separate a couple by thousands of miles, or time by eternity itself after death, is not readily diminished. The beloved's presence is too strongly felt; it is too much part of one; it is too deep in the air we breathe and the mind we reflect with to be forgotten.  We remember mysteries.  They are too much a part of us to be forgotten.  In this sense Marcel is accurate when he declares that a beloved bestows immortality on another by his love:  To say "I love you" is to say "You shall never die."  Love is mystery opening up to mystery.

No wonder its token is most regularly the granting and encouraging of freedom unto another: the freedom to be his or her own mystery and to live this mystery, loving it.

Religion generally attempts to guide the expression of human concerns with the supernatural.  Belief in, acceptance of non-rational sense of a superhuman, unseen controlling power or powers with the emotional and morality connections.

You and you alone are the link to your Creator and Spirit Guides (ancestors who have passed).  You need no human man or woman to speak on your behalf.

There are things in life that are hard to understand.  We seek guidance to help cope and adjust.  Uasally are intentions are for our highest good when we seek knowledge and guideance from the unseen, and it doesn't cost anything because those who want the best for you will not try to take possession of any person or put you in the poor-house.

The Earth Religion Anti-Abuse Resolution (1988)

We, the undersigned, as adherents of Pagan and Neo-Pagan Earth Religions, including Wicca or Neo-Pagan Witchcraft, practice a variety of positive, life affirming faiths that are dedicated to healing, both of ourselves and of the Earth.

As such, we do not advocate or condone any acts that victimize others, including those proscribed by law. As one of our most widely accepted precepts is the Wicca Rede's injunction to "harm none," we absolutely condemn the practices of child abuse, sexual abuse and any other form of abuse that does harm to the bodies, minds or spirits of the victims of such abuses.

We recognize and revere the divinity of Nature in our Mother the Earth, and we conduct our rites of worship in a manner that is ethical, compassionate and constitutionally protected. We neither acknowledge or worship the Christian devil, "Satan," who is not in our Pagan pantheons. We will not tolerate slander or libel against our churches, clergy or congregations and we are prepared to defend our civil rights with such legal action as we deem necessary and appropriate.

(This resolution was adopted by major workshops at the following 1988 Pagan Ecumenical Conferences: Ancient Ways (California) may 27-30; Pagan Spirit Gathering (Wisconsin) June 17th.) Provided to Northeast Council of W.I.C.C.A. by the Pagan Community Council of Ohio.)

May starts off with optimism and energy, bringing a welcome respite from the trials and tribulations of April. And what's more, this relief will last the entire month!

On May 1, Mars meets up with Jupiter in a jovial conjunction that will give you courage and confidence. You'll experience good fortune -- but in this case, it will be of your own making. There's a tendency to go over the top with this transit, so try to keep some of your extravagances in check, especially when it comes to sharing opinions that may not necessarily be appreciated by others.

The new Moon on May 6 helps you kick-start practical projects, and although you can indulge your whims at this time, you'll achieve greater success if you narrow your focus to specific tasks and projects.

Venus has been hindered by Saturn lately, but on May 11, a happy meeting with Jupiter brings out Venus's fun and frivolous nature; with this, you'll find yourself more free and happy than before. Also on May 11, Mars moves from Aries into Taurus. This transit will bring out your sensual side, while also adding a hint of pleasure-seeking and materialism.

May 15 sees not one, but two planets -- flirty Venus and chatty Mercury -- join both the Sun and Mars in Taurus. Mercury's influence will slow your decision-making process, but once you set your mind to something, you'll hold firm. Venus, meanwhile, will add to the sensuality of Mars and increase your need for physical affection.

The full Moon on May 17 creates tension between self-centered tendencies and a desire for more passion (which obviously requires someone else), so you'll need to rise above this see-saw and find a way to reach middle ground.

Then, on May 20-21, Mars, Mercury and Venus all meet in an easy transit with Pluto, at which point a solution will suddenly appear to dilemmas that have been slowing you down. Mars will give you power and Mercury will boost your persuasive capabilities; and with Venus, you'll simply ooze charm. Nothing can stop you now!

Finally, on May 22, the Sun moves out of earthy Taurus and into intellectual Gemini. Your curiosity will know no bounds, and you'll experience a restlessness that can only be satisfied by new experiences and activities.

While all these transits present influences that impact everyone on a cosmic level, the same planetary motions also affect us individually. Astrology.com's detailed, personalized May Forecast -- written by renowned astrologer Art Poppe -- analyzes every transit for the entire month with respect to your own natal chart. This forecast provides information about the best times to take action, as well as how to weather challenges with grace and ease. Thinkst thou, oh man! to attain power to gratify thy lusts, to enrich thy coffers, to build houses, to raise thyself to the pinnacle of human admiration: If these are the hopes and desires, thou has reason to lament thy being born: all such desires are immediately from the Devil. (Francis Barret, The Magus, London, 1801)

The knowledge of black magic is an old as the knowledge of good and evil; and as long as magic has been self-consciously practiced, distinction has been made between the black and white varieties.  At first the distinction was simple: white magic was either religious magic, performed with the sanction of the gods, or it was magic that did not hurt anyone else.  It included such practices as magic healing, divination, use of love charms and potions, and casting spells for finding buried treasure.

Black magic was that which injured another, and was usually illegal, the punishment varying with the degree of harm intended.

In ancient times, the white magician, who might be a priest practicing on one side, was generally respected and admired.  Later however, the practitioners of white magic exclusively were often considered witches or black magicians.  During the period of the witch trails, the most benevolent wise woman or herbalist might be accused of witchcraft by customers for whom her magic cures did not work.

Under Christianity, black magic came to be defined in terms of association with the Devil rather than the degree of evil in the magic acts themselves.  With the increasing credulity of the Church toward the possibility of successfully working black magic, punishment became more and more savage.  During the witch trails, the accused were treated as servants of the Devil, who must be prevented from having any chance to use their powers.

Magicians were considered somewhat less dangerous, since the witch-hunters believed that the effectiveness of magic came from making a pact with the Devil, not from merely working spells.  However, it was thought unlikely that one who attained magic powers had got them from any but Satanic sources and could use them for good.

It is easy to believe in black magic as the witch-hunters dd, but often quite difficult to believe in the possibility of white magic.  Magic can be white only to the degree that a human being can be good, and examples of pure white magic are therefore hard to find.  Many magical practices that traditionally have been considered good, such as finding of buried treasure and the use of love charms, are of mixed value.  One must consider not only whether the spell actively injures another but also what effect it has on the magician's character.  Will obtaining the treasure make him wiser or stronger?  Might the woman he desires to win by magic be happier with someone else?

Although the categories of black and white no longer seem especially useful for describing the practice of magic, the would-be magician should be consider carefully the nature of the forces he/she is evoking, and what effect they will have upon him/her.

Dion Fortune's description of black and white magic might be helpful: "White Magic seeks to reach backwards into an outgrown phase of evolution and release forces which have long since been equilibriated into a static force...In Black Occultism a breaking down of organized form into lower types of force takes place. ( Dion Fortune, The Training amd Work of an Initlate, London, 1955)

When experiencing past lives either in the dream state or through hypnosis, a person look into a soul companion's eyes in that time period and they recognize and know them.  Whether in heaven or on earth, they sense a vibration or energy, and it is the same as their loved one's.  They glimpse the deeper personality, and there is an inner knowing - a knowing from the heart.  A connection is made.

You will not always marry your most strongly bonded soulmate.  There may be more than one for you, because soul families travel together.  You might choose to marry a less bonded soul companion, one who has something specific to teach you or to learn from you.

Your recognition of a soulmate may occur later in life, after both of you are already committed to your present-life families.  Your strongest soulmate connection may be to your parent, or to your child, or to your sibling.  Your strongest connection may be to a soulmate who has not incarnated during your lifetime and who is watching over you from the other side, like a guardian angel.

Sometimes your soulmate is willing and available.  He or she might recognize the passion and the chemistry between you, the intimate and subtle bonds that imply connections over many lifetimes.  Yet he or she may be toxic for you.  It is a matter of soul development.

If one soul is less developed and more ignorant than the other, traits of violence, greed, jealousy, hatred, and fear might be brought into the relationship.  These tendencies are toxic to the more evolved soul, even if from a soulmate.  Frequently rescue fantasies arise with the thought, I can change him; I can help her grow.

If he does not allow your help, if in her free will she chooses not to learn, not to grow, the relationship is doomed.  Perhaps there will be another chance in another lifetime, unless he awakens later in this one.  Late awakenings do happen.

A soulmate who is available but unawakened is a tragic figure and can cause you great anguish.  Unawakened means that he or she does not see life clearly, is not aware of the many levels of existence.  Unawakened means not knowing about souls.  Usually it is the everyday mind prevents awakening.   We hear the excuses of the mind all the time; I'm too young, I need more experience; I'm not ready to settle down yet; you are of a different religion ( or race, region, social status, intellectual level, cultural background, and so on).  These are all excuses, for souls possess none of these attributes.

The attraction is definitely there, but the source of the recognized chemistry is not understood.  It is delusional to believe that this passion, this soul recognition and attraction, will be easily found again with another person.  You may only run into such a soulmate once or twice more in a lifetime.  Divine grace may reward a good heart, a loving soul.

Meeting soulmates is a matter of destiny.  They will occur.  After the meeting, the free will of both partners reigns.  Whatever decision made or not made are a matter of free will, of choice.  The less awakened will make decisions based on the mind and all of its fears and prejudices.    Unfortunately, this often leads to heartache.  The more awakened the couple is, the more likelihood of a decision based on love.  When both partners are awakened, ecstacy is within their grasp.

Listen to your heart, to your own wisdom, when making important decisions, especially when deciding about a gift of destiny, such as soulmate, spouse, or lover.  Destiny will deposit its gift at your feet, but what you subsequently decide to do with this gift is up to you.

If you rely exclusively on the advice of others, you may make terrible mistakes.  Your heart knows what you need.  Other people have other agendas.

Love dissolves fear.  When your intuitions, your gut-feelings, your spiritual heart all know beyond any doubt, do not be swayed by fear-based arguments of others.  Sometimes meaning well, and sometimes not, they might lead you far astray from your joy.

The Three Ladies of Fate - Greek and Roman mythologies include three spiritual beings called in Greek the Moirai, in Latin Parcae or Fatae, who were supposed to control the destiny of a person.  They were named (probably after Hesiod) Clotho, who held a distaff on which was the material of life; Lachesis, who spun the thread of material; and Atropos, who made that final cut of the thread which ended life.  Clotho, who spun the threads of life; Lachesis, who measured them; and Atropos, who cut them.

Lachesis measured the threads, Atropos cut them.  The cutting was not merely at the terminal end; the threads had to be started, too.  So after Lachesis had analyzed, measured, and marked each potential life, on the endless thread Clotho spun, Atropos would cut and place it.  The beginning of a cut thread was the conception of a baby; it had to be tied in to the threads of its parents before moving out its own course in the Tapestry.  The physical, mental, and emotional qualities of a life were determined by heredity, provided by the parental tie-in, and its development was influenced considerably by environment.  But its circumstance-the odd coincidences that governed every life-was arranged by Fate.  Some excellently endowed lives were doomed to disappointment and failure, while some seemingly weak strands were destined for greatness.  Lachesis planned these threads with an eye to the esthetics of the larger picture.  Some she regretted, as when a thread had to be measured short, meaning that a child would die.  But it had to be done, for stresses in the fabric of the Tapestry could distort the whole, and lead to the damage of many more innocent threads unless the correction was made in the key region.

It would not have been easy to explain to the average mortal why he should suffer, as the stresses were cumulative and subtle; indeed, there were generally several ways in which to given stress could be alleviated.  But it was Lachesis' job to select a course and implement it, and this she did.

Fate is not all-powerful or sudden whims; Fate is merely needs to accomplish a purpose that mortal man is not properly equipped to appreciate.

Sometimes the three are called the Harsh Spinners, even though they do not all spin.  Their spinning' was said to take place at birth, and in some periods also marriage, when new life or fate was made.  The general word moirai means 'share' or 'apportioned lot'.  Lachesis means approximately 'obtaining by lot' and astropos 'irresistible'.

The three witches in Macbeth have been linked with the three spinners, from the old English term weird, which means approximately 'destiny'; the three weird sisters' were the Fates who control destiny.

Dreams have many functions.  They help to process and integrate the day's events. They provide clues, often in the form of symbols and metaphors, that help solve the problems of everyday life - relationships, fears, work, emotions, illness, and much more.  They can assist us in achieving our desires and goals if not physically then at least in the form of wish fulfilment.

They aid us in reviewing past events, reminding us of parallels in the resent.  They protect sleep by disguising stimuli such as anxieties that would otherwise awaken us.  Dreams have a deeper functions as well.  They may provide pathways to recovering repressed or forgotten memories, whether from childhood, infancy, into-utro experiences, or even from past life.  Past life memory fragments often emerge in the dream state, particularly in those dreams in which the dreamer sees scenes from the years of centuries preceding his or her birth.

Dreams can be psychic or precognitive.  Often these particular dreams can predict the future. Accuracy varies because the future appears to be a system of probabilities, and because the ability of people accurately interpret their dreams itself varies tremendously.  These psychic or precognitive dreams are experienced by many of all cultures and background.  However, many people are shocked when their dreams literally come true.

Another type of psychic dream occurs when communication with a person at a distance is experienced.  The person may be alive and geographically distant, or the communication may be with the soul or consciousness of someone who has died, such as a relative or dear friend.  Similarly, there may be communication with an angelic spirit, a teacher, or guide.  The messages in these dreams are usually genuinely moving and very important.

Travlling dreams also occur.  During these dreams, people have experienced of visiting places to which they have never physically been.  Details of what they see can later be confirmed.  When one actually visits the geographical place, months or years after the dream, a feeling of deja vu or familiarity may occur.   Sometimes the dream traveler visits places that do not seem to exist on this planet.  These dreams may be far more than nocturnal imaginings.  They may be mystical or spiritual experiences, accessed because the usual ego and cognitive barriers are relaxed during sleep dreaming.  Knowledge and wisdom acquired during this type of traveling dream can transform lives.
