On April 20th, the Sun enters the constellation of Taurus, which it then leaves on May 20th. On May 21st the Sun enters Gemini, and so on, throughout the entire year.

Many gathered last week to celebrate the verbal equinox at Stonehenge. Thought to be created between 3000 and 2500 B.C.E., Stonehenge is getting something of a makeover. This year will see the closure of of the A344, the road alongside monument. The £27 million pound project will add a visitor center, remove a parking lot, “restore the dignity” of the stones’ setting and “minimize the intrusion of the modern world,” according to English Heritage. Can’t argue with that, though the plan to restore the site to more of its original naturalistic state does not go quite as far as hoped. A plan for all major roads to be diverted via tunnels has been scrapped, for instance. Thanks to radiocarbon dating, archaeologists and historians have been able to figure out that, around 3000 B.C.E., the huge circular ditch that now surrounds the stones was dug and a number of bluestones erected. It was around 2600 B.C.E. that the sarsens, the giant stones, were erected and massive rock lintels placed atop them. Five trilithons (with three stones, a horizontal one capping two verticals slabs) were raised. All these were aligned such that the setting midwinter sun and the rising midsummer sun shine through the very middle of the site and down through the road leading up to it. What purpose the stones and site served has been the subject of constant speculation since ancient times: 1) Back in the twelfth century, Geoffrey of Monmouth said that no one less than the legendary wizard Merlin had built Stonehenge as a burial place for knights slain in fighting the Saxons. 2) ) Most recently, University College London professor Mark Parker Pearson has suggested that Stonehenge was in essence a celebration site that unified Britain. While originally a burial site, Pearson says that, just as today, people gathered at the massive stones to celebrate the solstices in what was like “Glastonbury festival and a motorway building scheme at the same time.” Some 80,000 bones from cattle from all over Britain have been found near the site; Pearson suggests that Stonehenge was a “monument that brought ancient Britain together,” at a time that was the only one “in prehistory in which ‘the people of Britain were unified’ and all engaged in a ‘ common cultural activity.’” 3) Professor Tim Darvill of Bournemouth University instead suggests that Stonehenge was a “place for the living” where people came to seek cures, in the manner of pilgrims visiting the shrine of our Lady of Lourdes. 4) Scientists have some other ideas. Based on the alignment of the stones, Stonehenge was a sort of observatory, where astronomical calculations could be made to predict phenomena like lunar eclipses. 5) Anthony Perks of the University of British Columbia’s Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology has suggested that the whole circular monument is meant to be a fertility symbol, in the shape of the femalesexual organ (pdf) in honor of some sort of prehistoric mother goddess. 6) A 2011 study by an international team of archaeologists suggested that, long before the sarsens were erected, the pits surrounding Stonehenge had been used for sun worship, another argument for it being a sacred site. 7) Druids have often been associated with Stonehenge (including with building it). While some say Stonehenge existed before Druidism came into being, others argue that the Druids predate Stonehenge by a good millennium and that the connection between them and the huge stone circle “ may be fairly recent.” An architect, John Webb, dispensed with the idea that those indigenous to Britain built Stonehenge. The huge structure was rather built by the Romans as a temple to a sky-god Coelus. 9) Others suggest that it wasn’t the Romans but the Danes who built Stonehenge — and others take the notion of someone “foreign” building Stonehengea bit further and suggest that aliens built it. 10) Geologists have suggested that Stonehenge’s builders were neither human nor alien but the forces of nature itself and that glaciers “snatched” the huge stones from the Preseli Hills and deposited them on Salisbury Plain. Two Quick Questions - 1. How important is it to you to create likeable characters?
I portray the characters inner characteristics and emotions as they struggle with issues of their own. The characters are realistic that the readers will believe. Tough and practical Paige takes command; Roxy under a watchful eye intimidates; always helpful Lizzy goes with the flow and Carm is consumed with sorrow and mental anguish. Gretchen, a witch is a welcome relief from life's pressures. To add support and conflict to the story are Thomas a friend everyone wants to deserve and Philip is certainly not safe to trust.
2. What do you most hope that readers will take away from the book?
In this book I provide a unique insight into the drug world and mysticism – addiction and the belief that direct knowledge of ultimate reality is attainable through intuition and the unseen world. I hope the reader will begin to believe if you change your choices while guided by Spirit you can change your life for the better.

Through out the world, the snake has long been reguarded with awe and respect - and quite justifiably, too.
Walls and doors present no barrier to them, while to make an emeny of one could well turn out to be fatal. Not surprisingly, this powerful and mysterious creature became an object of worship among many ancient cultures, and even today snake temples still exist in India and Malaysia Westwen mythology, meanwhile, has a long associated the snake with the Underworld - which perhaps accounts for our instinctive fascination and dread at the sight of one in the hands of a snake charmer.
In Chinese astrology the Snake is the complement to the Dragon, both signs forming the House of Mystery. But while the Dragon represents the extrovert magician, brash and guady, the subtle Snake symbolizes the hidden aspect of mystery and occult knowledge. Like the Dragon, the Snake is a sign of good fortune for the Chinese, who believe it to be the guardian of burial treasure. Some are relucant to kill snakes which enter the house, no matter how dangerous, since there is a chance they might bring wealth with them.
Since snakes are closly in tune with the earth, and usually make their home there, the Chinese believe them to be particulary sensitive to the onset of earthquakes. As a consequence, the Snake year is said to be one in which earthquakes are more than usually severe - witness the disastrous events in China and Armenia which proceded the San Francisco earthquake in the Snake year 1989.
Such catastrophes are likely to be matched by policital up heavals. Coups, conspiracies and the ballot box are the means by which governments are overthrown, for it is a rime of internal revolution rather than war Similarly, in business, the dangers are not from takeover bids by outside companies, but through intrigue and insider dealing.
Yet the snake year is also a period when the needs of the environment are hightened. There is greater awareness of the value of the earth's resources, and 'green' issues come to fore.
Generally speaking, it is not such a favourable time to embark on any new ventures or risky projects. The year is best taken up with intitial planning, research and feasibility studie; caution is the key to survial.
How will you fare in the Snake year:
The Rat- this is not a good year for the Rat. But whatever th setbacks, ood will result - often in a surprising way.
The Ox- an excellent year for the Ox prsonality. Routine givs way to welcome change and brings exciting prospects
The Tiger- this year all kinds of unexpected hindrances, such as bureaucratic or legal tangles, impede the Tiger's progress.
The Hare- a year of extremely satisfying progress for the Hare. Both business anromance have a satisfactory outcome.
The Dragon- matters begun last year come to a satisfactory conclusion. Finaces may be reduced slightly, but will be more secur.
The Snake- an ideal time for the Snake to strike. Both in career and relationships, there should be positive results.
The Horse- moderate success might be found this year. It is neither good nor bad; the usual benefits, the usual problems.
The Sheep- Those sheep who favour the quiet life and are realistic in their ambitions will find this a happy and successful year.
The Monkey- a time when the Monkey's schemes and plots may come to grief. It is advisable to play matters very carefully.
The Rooster- a satisfactory time. Many problems from the past will be smoothed out, making the way ahead much clearer.
The Dog- problems will rear their heads, and it is best to be prepared for unxpected delays. Do not push ahead to vigorously.
The Pig- a disappointing year, especially where family is concerned. It is advisable not to consider ambitions plans.

Ancient Chinese wisdom says a Snake in the house is a good omen because it means your family will not starve. This could be taken metaphorically to mean that a Snake could never have a problem with his family starving because he is such a great mediator, making him good at business. Or it could mean that a Snake would be willing to sacrifice his possessions, something the Snake has a lot of, in order to pay for his family’s food. Any way it is interpreted is representative of the Snake’s character and is a measure of the value he puts on his material wealth. The Snake is keen and cunning, quite intelligent and wise.
A talisman is a woman/manmade magical object designed to pomote health, wealth, love, protection or similar objectives. The purpose of Talisman is to be carry out certain task - to protect against evil in general and bring success. We're used to say that Talisman would attract, on the one who is wearing it, luck, money, and love as honey attracts bees or magnet attracts iron, and that it would take away, negative waves of bad luck and failure.
Talisman has always been, as far as I can remember, part of the most precious things that a family owned. My mother give it to me, herself got it from her mother who herself got it from hers…  A talisman: a coin-size disk, square or triangle with certain symbols enraved on it. The talisman has been specially prepared and is worn for protection or to bring health, wealth or love. Objects would be blessed and become powerful talismans and magickal charms.
A love talisman must be made on a Friday, on or just before the Full Moon. It should be made of gold but can be created on copper. A really old coin that has been worn fairly smooth is a good choice. A flat stone on you diligently search for is another choice.
The witches' tool an Awl, or engraver is a small tool, about the size of a pen or pencil and is used in similar fashion to a pen, but it scratches, or engraves the characters into the coin. But a sharp nail alone will do.
One way to make an awl is find a piece of wood (can be the same as the wood for the wand) and carve it into a shape. You can carve the awl with symbols that are relevant to you. Take a small nail 9 -D would do) You can grind the nail into a point by working it against a rough rock. Tap the nail firmly into the end of the wood, be careful not to split the wood.
In magick you are not trying to do things the quick and easy way, you are working at putting your energies into your work. As you engrave, you must concentrate on your intent.
On the night of the Full Moon itself, wash the talisman in pure spring water and then hold it in the palm of your left hand. Breathe on it seven times, then hold it up high towards the Moon so that the light of the Moon shines on it. Then kiss the talisman and then keep it on your person.
Love symbols should be engraved on the natural object (coin, stone) during the waxing moon. As you engrave, concentrate on putting you intent into what you are trying to accomplish. On the reverse side, engrave names, astrological birth signs or dates to make more personal (your love one and yourself).
Witches have a vast store of knowledge regarding symbols and their uses. They have passed out the knowledge of where to find them, how to prepare them, or how to use them. Ancient Grimories have been past down from hand to hand across the length of Europe. Most of this information can be found in reading magickal texts.
There are tremendous range of symbols. Perhaps the most popular is that of the Sun. Almost as popular is the Moon. The heart symbol was actually to 'give heart' to to the person who wore it. But hearts can be equally good at producing love. Probably the most famous of all "magical" rings was worn by King Solomon who ruled over israel in the thenth century B.C., and whose name is a symbol of great wisdom. He supposed to have worked miracles with the ring, which was of pure gold set with a precious stone, called in the ancient manuscripts a shamir, and engraved the five-pointed star or pentacle, known as the "shield of Solomon" and the initials of four Hebrew words meaning, "Thou art mighty forever Adonai." Adonai is the ineffable name of God, that is, so sacred as never to be spoken.
In ancient Rome, rings engraved with a five-point-srar were among the most popular means of aquiring good luck.
So it is that rings as a symbol of love, friendship, and good luck have come down to us in modern times.
Hebrews used talismans for all sorts of benefits - success in business, favor both God and people, love by enemies. They were composed of multitude of magic symbols, letter, and words written on skin or parchment. They often contained the six pointed star made by placing one triangle on another. This was known as the "shield of Solomon." Other used the five-pointed pentacle.
The Pentacle has the amazing power to capture ALL the positive cosmic energy circulating in our Universe, no matter how faint. The five-pointed-star, which the ancient believed had the power to trp the forces of evil, rendering them powerless.
