I am not a Ghost-buster.

I am a Canadian writer, practicing Witch and Spiritualist who also divines with Tarot and ordinary playing cards. 

The tarot, as well as messages from Spirit assist to connect to the information I need for myself and hopefully inspire others.

My only desire is to share with you what works for me.

 
  Summer is almost at the point where the season is merely a memory.  During the Autumn months the temperatures are trying to cool while the wind sweeps the leaves trying to change color as it moves the treetops.  Autumn is the balance between summer's light and winter's dark.  The season approaching is one that draws us inward and makes us reflective. 

 To Witches October 31st is more than trick or treating.        Know as Samhain (sow-een) to the ancient Celts, is the day on which the Celtic New Year and Winter begins.  Samhain is the end of one year and the beginning of the next.  A time for change, and a time to look to the future.  It is the perfect moment to be in touch with Spirit Guides and vision of the way you want you life.  The veil between the worlds of the living and the dead is at its thinnest point of the year making communication easier.       

To prepare for the ritual bathe in salt to purify the mind, body, heart and soul.  Dressed, slip in your pocket a picture of the person you will request to speak with or your Spirit Guide.  Indoors or out the summoning of spirit is carried out in dawn or dusk in the glow of flickering lights of candles.       

A secluded place is necessary, free from interruption, and then the magical circle is drawn out.  The reason for this is to avoidance of contamination from unfriendly spirits.       

Pause before you say what's on your mind.  Focus on the lit candle wick and slowly breathe in and out to connect with the ebb and flow of the universe.       

The universe is comprised of an invisible energy which is synchronized and flows without static.  Interlaced threads move from side to side, intersect, sends out ripples and generate a current.  Energy swirls around and around in its own inevitable rhythm of waves or vibrations on a vast range of different frequencies.  The magical energy is, above and below heaven and earth, and inhabits all living and non-living things.  The endless energies can be tapped into. 

 Acknowledge what you have already been given.  You have many blessings to be thankful for.  If you woke this morning with a healthy body you are blessed.  Some people didn't while others didn't wake at all.  

Say aloud:       
I am thankful for the wonderful things in my life.  I am grateful for all those mundane bounties that can be taken for granted which makes my life more stable - a home, heat, hydro, resources to pay bills and food in the fridge.  I appreciate my family and friends cooperation to make my life more peaceful; for mutual consideration and respect.       

I pray that peace be with my fellow citizens of my community, my country and the world at large.        Call out to your Spirit Guide bidding to appear.

In the previous year there were many ups and downs that I dealt with. Trouble is part of life.  Failure builds character.  I acknowledge what has been done; and what remains to be done.

For a variety of reasons, people who have died visit the earthly plane.  I don't believe they cut ties or release their attachments to the people they love and care for.  If you believe communication with the dead or spirit, it is possible.  

Halloween orgins date back 2000 years ago to the ancient Celtic festival of Samhain (prodounced sow-in). Sunday October 31st is the Great Sabbat Samhain and fire festival.

Samhain means "end of summer" and is an ancient Celtic festival that celebrates the beginning of winter, marked by death and is considered to be the Witches' New Year.

In the seventh century, Pope Boniface IV designated November 1 All Saints' Day, a time to honour saints and martyrs.

It is believed that the pope was attempting to replace Celtic festival of the dead with a related, but church-sanctioned holiday. The celebration was also called
All-hollowmas or(from Middle English Alholwesse meaning All Saints' Day) and the night before it, the night of Samhain, began to be called All-hallows Eve and, eventually Halloween.

November 1, the Day of the Dead (also celebrated by some on November 2)the dead were thought to return to earth. People would leave food on the tables for them and for would usually stay indoors.

Apple tress that produce blossoms and fruit simultaneously were one of the features of the Celtic paradise. Avalon, the paradise to which King Arthur was called, was probably named after the Welsh word afal. meaning apple. The apple has always been particularly associated with love and marriage.

Several of the most widely known Halloween's divinationrituals related to apples.

If you want to know the initial of your true loves first name twist the stalk once for each letter of the alphabet: the stalk  will snap at the right letter.

Place a apple seed representing a potential partner in a hot fire while saying: 'If you love me, bounce and fly, if you dislike me, lie and die', and then observing what happens, might produce the required answer.

If a girl stands before a mirror while eating an apple and combing her hair at midnight, her future husband's image will be reflected in the glass over her left shoulder.

At midnight cut an apple into nine pieces, each of which must be stuck on the point of the knife and held over the left shoulder, her future husband's image will appear.

Peel an apple in one long piece, and toss the peel over the left shoulder or into a bowel of water, one will be able to read the first initial of their future partner's name in the the shape assumed by the discarded peel.

An apple peel hung on a nail by the front door and the initials of the first man to enter will be the same as those of the unknown lover.

The game of ducking apples: without using their hands, children attempt to take bites out of apples floating in a bowl of water or suspended on strings The child is fated to marry the owner of the apple they managed to bite. The chlidren take their apple to bed and sleeps with the apple under their pillow so as to receive a vision.

A witch's familiar, a power or token animal is a perfect costume for Samhain. Animals are equal to humans for they think, feel, speak, and do.  They are credited to have a supernatural powers and a kinship with spirit, since ancient times.  They are associated with magic because animals are able to sense and predict future events. 

A person's power animal, their familar are often wise counselors and messengers with information to protect and guide   The familiar costume needs to have character.  An opening is needed to be left for arms, completely cover the torso and to lace in loose ribbon around the neck and armholes to keep the costume in place.  

Samhain is one of those holidays that actually promotes the idea of being superstitious. Superstitions have been around for thousands of years and reflect our fears about those things we don’t understand.  

Here are some common superstitions that have long been a part of the folklore around this time of year:  

Burning candles inside a Jack O’ Lantern keeps evil spirits away.  

If you don’t burn candles on Samhain, you will suffer bad luck the rest of the year.
 
 If you gaze into the flame of a candle on Samhain, you will be able to see the future.  

If you hear footsteps behind you on this night, do not turn around to see who it is or you could be confronted by the personification of Death and pass away!  

If you allow a fire to burn out on Samhain, you will have bad luck the rest of the year unless it is relit by a priest.  

If you see a spider on Samhain, then it is likely that the spirit of a dead loved one is watching you.  

If you want to meet a witch on this night, put your clothes on inside out and walk backwards.  

If you give out nuts to children on Samhain, you will be protected from the Devil.
 
 If you ring a bell on Samhain, then the dark spirits will be scared away! It’s a good thing that a lot of doorbells are rang on that night.
 

If a bat flies around your house three times on Samhain, you will die within the year.

To ward off bad spirits, bury animal bones in your front yard.  

If the flame of a candle flickers and turns blue, there is a spirit in the room.  

If a crow caws at night on Samhain, then death is very near.  

All souls in purgatory are released for 48 hours to roam the earth on Samhain.  

If you float egg yolks in a bowl of water on this night, you will see patterns that will tell you about your future.  

If you eat a hazelnut on Samhain night and fall asleep, you will dream of your future spouse.  

The first person to go apple bobbing and successfully catch and entire apple in their mouth would also be the first to marry.  

Knocking on wood on Samhain will keep bad luck away.  

Gazing into the flame of a candle on Samhain will allow you to see your future.  

If you look down and you are casting no shadow at all, then you are in danger of having an evil spirit steal your soul.  

If you walk backwards down a staircase holding a mirror and candle, you will see the face of your future wife or husband.  

If you blindfold yourself and go out into the garden on Samhain and pull up Kale, the roots will tell you whether or not your future wife or husband will be tall or short, old or young, or healthy or unhealthy.    

My freedom-loving friend Rob invited me to visit his hide away out in the country.  A one room building out in the country just on the fringe of the woods and growing fields to take pictures for my websites.  

On this cool evening we arrived at our destination around 5:30pm.  After leaving the building we entered outside to a meeting circle which lies behind the dwelling.  Rob raked the dried colorful leaves into the fire pit, lit the fire, and collected some wood to keep it burning.

Building his hide away gave him one of his most rewarding experiences.  Rob's friend Dave had worked closely with him to make the construction process go smoothly.  He said he's never been happier then when he had his friend spent time working and laughing together side-by-side.  

At the end of the story as I helped him fold the tent he told me he plans to pitch the tent in the coming years in the early spring in his friends memory.  I agreed his friend would appreciate the gesture.  

Time came to take the pictures we came for.  Rob grabbed the camera.  I sat by the crackling fire.  I asked out loud if it is Dave's will to appear on film please do.  A few seconds later Rob snapped two pictures.  He brought the camera for me to see what appeared in the frames.

In the first photo a luminous entity made itself visible floating beside me.   

In the second picture we saw hovering above me the sight of dense gray smoke. 

(Neither of us were smoking cigarettes at the time)   

We are pleased and excited to think his friend appeared.  We like to believe Dave returned to a place he loved during his life.  

The sword represents the tongue.  Words, either destructive or constructive, are involved in spells.  Most spells are reliant on words spoken with intensity and passion.  The vibration of sound travels to the desired destination.  It connects the seeker to the sought. 

The spoken word has the power to move along on the invisible energy web, on its own frequency, then be heard and altar the environment or situation.  Sound and energy can be utilized then directed outward to bring about a personal outcome.  The phrases help bolster the will to achieve. 

In the act of magic, a spell should be spoken from the heart because the universe is held in a Divine embrace of love, the purest form of energy.  

When people seek to direct the forces of nature in accordance to their own will, responsibilities of cause and effect must be taken into account.  Depending on the sender's intent, spells may be beneficial or harmful. 

Spells for personal power or to gain power or manipulate others often backfire.  Energy and sound is sent outward and has the power to bounce back onto the sender.  Spells must be correct with Divine unity and for the good of all.  What is asked for has consequences.  

The best spells come from compassion, imagination and personal will, short cuts may affect the chances of success.  Spells involve visualization of the end result while respecting the laws of nature.  The success of the spell depends on the power raised and the skill with which the energy is focused and projected.       

Think over what you truly want to ask for.  What we ask from the whirling energy of the Universe and the demands placed upon others will return threefold.  Spells are to transform one's life or to strengthen bonds in relationships.

  There are endless reasons to cast a spell - love, money, health, success, fertility, longevity, and protection from illness or abuse.  

Spells are cast according to need to attract good health, wealth and happiness.  The spell may be cast for one's self or someone else. 

Positive spells are known as a Blessing, these include bewitchment and enchantment.  Negative spells are known as hexes or curses.  Binding spells are intended to prevent harm, disaster or to stop someone from preforming such acts.    A Blessing spell is a prayer to ask for support from the Divine and Elemental forces for some sort of healing needed within the recipient. 

It helps us understand our shadow so one can grow and mature in a positive manner.  

The spell may involve a thought or behavior to be removed or balanced, to mature.  During the ritual, the positive energy is to build hope, strength and confidence.  When the energy is at a peak it is released and left to the will of the Divine Forces to direct toward a goal.   

A Binding spell commands a particular thing to take place without co-operation of others involved.  The spell is cast to make someone do something they don't want to or against their human nature.  Manufactured images made from wax, clay, wood or metal and herb and personal items or a stuffed puppet are generally incorporated so the identification would be stronger.  The spell could only be broken when the manufactured image is discovered and destroyed. 

A Binding spell could be used to remove a hex or curse.  It requires a great deal of energy, concentration and power to build up in a steady accelerated rhythm to bring the thought into form.   Be sure when a Binding spell is cast, it harms none and is for the greater good, for there responsibility and consequences.  

The proper procedure used to neutralize harmful intent is one should never send negative energies back onto the sender for it will only cause psychic warfare.  Protection should be sent to the recipient and command the harmful energies to be neutralized with the power of white, invisible light, Divine energy, love.  

A love spell is a spell of desire and is a way to make another find us desirable and attractive.  To cast this type of spell on another interferes with a person's free will and goes against a witch's ethics - In Ye Harm None, Do As Ye Will.
 
 During a healing spell Divine energy is focused with one's own healthy energy to heal others or ourselves, in a specific way.  

To bring forth magical success, one needs to be clear what type of spell they want to cast.  The correct planetary alignment or days of the week's energies could be added.  Elemental tools with like energies should be combined to attract that which is desired. 

The spell should be cast inside a magical circle, mental or actual.  The reason for this is to avoidance of contamination from unfriendly spirits.  Perform an Invocation to as Divine Forces permission and aid.

 To heighten awareness is passionately done with chants, prayers, songs, or incantations.  When the surge of energy is raised, release the power into the universe by saying So Shall It Be or So Mote it Be, a formal request to end the magical ceremony.   The words signify the positive energy is released into the Universe and So Shall It Be Done, not by one's will alone, but by the will of the Divine Forces who dwell in light energy, love.  

  There is a free flowing chain of cosmic events that can reinforce and add their energy to a spell.  When the energies correspond  will give support to achieve happiness and abundance.  The various energies assigned to the lunar phases, days of the week, transitional periods, elemental tools and personal energy can be harnessed for all type of spells.  

NEW MOON             -symbolizes time to plant seeds, work spells of increase growth                                  beginnings and attraction  

FIRST QUARTER     -work spells to support, increase or connect with the spiritual world  

FULL MOON           -symbolizes illumination and fulfillment, work spells to remove                                 obstacles and neutralize problems or banish  

LAST QUARTER     -work spells to support full Moon goals  

DARK MOON         -symbolizes obstacles are removed and situations are completed.                              a period of limbo  

The days of the week the spell is enacted can influence the outcome.

Sunday is ruled by the Sun and is the proper day to preform spells for healing and prosperity.

Monday is ruled by the Moon and s the proper day to preform spells for female fertility, reconciliation and animals.

Tuesday is ruled by Mars and is the proper day to preform spells for physical strength, action, and breaking hexes.

Wednesday is ruled by Mercury and is the proper day to preform spells for communication and knowledge.

Thursday is ruled by Jupiter and is the proper day to preform spells for male fertility, wealth.

Friday is ruled by Venus and is the proper day to preform spells for romance, love, friendship and partnerships.

Saturday is ruled by Saturn and the proper day fpr spells of communication, defence and to locate something missing.  

The earth's energy runs rampant during the transitional moments which include sunrise and sunset, noon and midnight, as well as the Four Grand Sabbats and the Four Lesser Sabbats, moments which are suspended in a place without a reference point that marks time.   

When spells are cast we connect with ancestors and spirit guides and request they support our desire.

  The Magical Circle is created through visualization and magic.  To form a mental image of the movement of natural energies to create needed change.  Inside the ring, the energy that exists within all things - ourselves, plants, stones, colors, sound and movement, is built up in power while given a purpose geared toward union with the Divine, to move the energy toward a constructive change.  

The elemental energies naturally inherent at the four directions of the Magical Circle - North, East, South, West.  These four essences, solid, gaseous, electrical and liquid are the building blocks of the Universe.  The four elemental forces can be utilized to cause change.  The Four Elementals are Earth, Air, Fire and Water.  Each possesses it's own strength and power with positive and negative traits.    The four elements are active in the creation of the planet, our world.  Energy forces reside in the flowers, trees, stones, animals, sun, moon, sky, earth and each individual. 

A magical system of energy spun together by a Divine Embrace - cooperate, to act jointly with another or others - willing to work with others. 

  Without each other, neither could be. The natural elements have inherent purpose in spells.  The energies are personified by symbols, colors, directions, seasons and so much more.  The tools help one to focus, concentrate and control energies to reach out to connect with other like energies that forever repeat, everywhere and in space.  

Spells require no specific tools, but their energies could help.  Earth, Air, Fire and Water can be linked together to build up power.  The energies intensify the vibration for a needed response.  The energy of the mind is the same energy in the Universe, and things that had once been in contact will always to have a relationship with each other and will respond to each other.  

It is assumed that the human aura is affected by ndividual thought process, energy projected outward by a specific frame of mind.  A conscious attitude that reveals or character and less conscious, emotional side that reveals our desires and needs.  Brain waves contact with another through vibrations and is the  generator of thoughts.  Thoughts are things and they sometimes have greater power and force than physical things.  Thoughts are forms manifested visually in the brain and can have a life of their own.  Thought forms have importance and significance.  It creates one's own reality then, by personal will, projects them into the environment.   Spell casting is a conscious choice, a decided thought to create a needed change. 

During ritual a witch focuses intense concentration and personal energy to achieve a goal then visualizing and believing it is accomplished.  A technique to attain power over one's mind and then directed thought energy toward a desired end. 

A spell is intended to cause or influence a particular course of events.  It is done to direct our mind's energy to an intended destintation while requesting Divine intervention.  

The wind is the air that flows parallelling earth's surface.  Earth's winds vary day-to-day or blow mostly from one direction throughout a year or season. 

The wind is air in motion, a current and the power of respiration, the breath of life and creatures.  It shapes or forms the clouds and is the sweeper of heaven and earth. 

Even though the winds are invisible, it can be felt against the cheek or seen rustling the tree leaves as it passes by.  The wind has a way of clearing away the old and renewing hope.  

As a witch we know we have the power to call the winds when desired.  Each point of the compass has been gifted with a purpose to help change or endure.  The wind has a voice.  All that is needed is to ask, then listen.   

When preforming spells or making a wish, try to match the wind with the request.   The east wind belongs to new beginnings and blesses the change with its energy.  The south wind binds love and creativity.  Call this wind for love enchantments and bring peace and harmony in relationships.  The west wind  erases negative thoughts and emotions.  The west wind has the energy to renew confidence and hope.  The north wind transcends the east, south, and west winds.

 The north wind is a source of spiritual strength and great wisdom.  It protects and increases intuition and dignitary power.  The north wind can harness and bind all winds together. 

At sunset or sun rise stand and face north with both hands in front of your body, palms toward earth, fingers spread.  Join your fingers together to make a solid structure.  Breathe gently.

  NORTH WIND, HEAR MY CALL,  YOUR STRENGTH,  I SEEK.   PLEASE,IASK,  BIND THE WEST, SOUTH, AND EAST WINDS.       

Turn west with elbows at our side, palms up to the sky while spreading fingers wide, 

WEST WIND, HERE MY CALL,  PLEASE, HELP ME OPEN MY HEART TO LOVE.      

Turn south and lift your arms high above your head, fingers placeina fist.                              

SOUTH WIND, HEAR MY CALL,  PLEASE, HELP ME TO SEE WITH A CHILD’S EYE,  NOTHING BUT WITH CURIOSITY.       

Turn east with your arms high above your head, fingers spread wide,                              

EAST WIND, HERE MY CALL,  PLEASE, HELP ME TO THINK PRODUCTIVE THOUGHTS.       

Return north and move your arms in front of your body, designing the rune for binding.

This is a once-in-a-millenium -- the day 10/10/10 is so powerfully lucky.  

Why the number 10 is considered such a powerful force? You probably know that it's been considered a special number for centuries and cultures much too divergent to be a mere coincidence. In fact the number 10 appears throughout history as a magical source of power.  

Ten is a very significant number within spirituality.  The spiritual meaning of the number ten brings us to the very height of vibration frequencies and the number represents completeness.   

The number ten is composed of One which stands for initiation and the Zero the end of a cycle that is ready to begin again.  The beginning of a new stage of development.

 Maximum achievement.  Perfection that comes at the completion of a cycle.   

The number ten evokes the Wheel of Fortune of the Major Arcane.  It reminds us that nothing is permanent in the universe.  It implies an end to an important cycle in which change will soon be forthcoming. 

The heights of happiness and success after periods of calm will be succeeded by moments of intense activity, and many trials and tribulations, and that peace will reign again.  A message of hope and warning that tomorrow must inevitably bring change.  

On the tenth day, of the tenth month, in the tenth year, the numeric date possesses true significance.  This, in essences, allows a maximum potential of the tenth month's wisdom - accumulated learning and the day's achievement - to gain by work or effort, ready to be acted on.   

There is powerful luck and opportunity that the universe is bringing on 10/10/10, that will come into your life unhindered. As the energy starts to open your mind up to the possibilities, you will immediately feel stronger, wiser, completely protected and virtually unstoppable.

It will feel as if a gigantic wave has risen up and washed away the negativity and obstacles, no matter how large these obstacles or worries seemed to be only seconds before.  You may leave your life behind, also those people close to enter a new life, a new way of knowing.  

The winds rise, fall, shift, veer, prevail, freshen, gust, then relax.  Like the wind, our minds swirl, twirl, regulate, adjust, settle and determine. 

The human mind has the ability to be brilliant.  It is analytical and intellectual.  The mind through thoughts, creates reality.  It's not so much the size of one's brain as it is the size of one thoughts that makes them who they are.  How you think affects how you talk, walk, feel and act. 

A person is the product of of their thoughts.  Others see in us what we see in ourselves.  "To think is to have an opinion: belief, to reflection: to ponder, to call to mind; to remember, to form a mental picture: imagine.  

Without thought it is impossible to look outside ourselves and understand another person.  Thoughts enable us to deal objectively with conflict.  It allows us to solve a problem through intellect, to distinguish clearly, or to comprehend the meaning and significance of events.  

The mind examines the situation and forms a perspective.  Continual repetition of words, actions and ideas cultivate and discipline the mind. 

Duality plays a vital role in our lives and throughout the universe.  The Law of Duality states that opposites are two sides of the same phenomenon.  Know for every negative thought there is a positive thought and for every positive thought there is a negative thought.  Together, but separate, unity, but disunity.  

This principle is reflected in everything we think and do.  Embrace your opposite side, your shadow, the part within that is negative and you don't want to acknowledge, but others can see.  What you tell yourself you program yourself mentally to believe. 

How you think plays a role in the outcome of personal destiny.    Destiny is within your control and fate plays a role.  Personal experience through emotions and actions, create your thoughts.  Allow your thoughts to work for you. 

When the mind doubts, it will attract reasons to support this and will function in ways to help fail.  When the mind thinks positive it will attract reasons to support this and function to succeed.  When you tell yourself you are equal to others, yet an individual accepting self with confidence will condition the mind with positive thoughts to produce behavior and words. 

  To think new thoughts, one must reason, conceive, realize, reflect, speculate and deliberate. 

It is easier to be cynic and harder to believe.  optimism builds and creates.
