In the British Isles and Europe, the Green Man, a pagan deity of the woodlands usually seen as a horn man peering out from a mask of foliage, usually the sacred oak.
The Green Man is represented by a being that dwells amongst the green foliage in the fields and forest. He is not feared by witches for all know he has the power to make it rain enough for fields and meadows to grow in green and colorful life. He has the ability to close the gates to winter and open them to spring.
The Green Man embodies the spirit of growth and magic.
As the woodlands deity, he shares an association with the forest-dwelling Fairies (green is the fairy color). He is a God that represents the very life force of nature.
I want to remind you that this time of year is the perfect time to really get out of doors somewhere in a natural setting for an invigorating morning walk or a hike. And when you do, be sure to keep all of your senses open.
You'll probably be surprised at how loud the bird chirping becomes, especially in the absence of loud, distracting noises like roaring motors, screeching sirens and honking horn and blaring radios. You may be especially aware of the warmth of the sun, or if it's a cloudy day, the depth of the colors all around you. When you breathe in this fresh air, chances are that you will experience an array of smells – damp plants, soft earth, tiny wildflowers and more.
I want to give you the information so you can call the unseen for yourself. If you still the mind and open your heart you might find the answers you seek for yourself. You don't need me or anyone else. You and you alone are the link between the seen and unseen energies. All you have to do is be open and ask")
CLACHA BRATH - TALKING STONES:
The cambium is developed most in trees. The cambium is the thin layer of tissue between bark and wood stem. The cambium is the growth area that causes the increase in the diameter of stems - the magical part of the tree that produces wood. The Heart or Soul of the tree - the source of all life, the seat of emotions, the inner part of anything is found in the center.
The conscious of the tree runs up the center and is the part that guides.
Trees possessing the power of speech is a tradition among the Celtic culture, as much as mythology surrounds trees. Clacha Brath-Talking Stones, are two stones painted with a personal symbol and placed within the heart of an Oracle Tree.
Talking Stones serve as the vocal cords in the hollow and accessible hole in the trunk.
To create Talking Stones go to a place where Earth and Water meet and find two stones/pebbles equal size that, when struck together, produce a pleasing sound and vibration you respond to. Clean the chosen stones/pebbles with rain water then leave them to dry in the sun. Take your time to design a simple personal symbol using runes or the ogham or paint a picture to represent your magical name (maybe a name given to you by a parent or friend during childhood).
Take a stroll to your Oracle Tree. Day or night, whenever the time is right for you. Burn jasmine incense-to be successful in magic at the base of the trunk. Hold the stones/pebbles in your left hand and place the hand against the bark, and then greet the tree. Invite the invisible energies to combine with yours. Speak words that will allow the tree to know your intentions.
To give the Oracle Tree a voice: place the Talking Stones in the middle of the hollow in the very old tree, within the heart of the tree, and then place your hands on the bark.
The tree is a channel to communicate with non-worldly beings-spirits, gods or goddess or the tree could communicate of their own accord. Formulate a question to either non-physical being or the energy of the tree for a yes, no, or unknown answer. Make an appeal to a higher power such as ancestral spirit, god, goddess or tree. An invocation of establishing conscious ties with those aspects. Say what you want to say to express your purpose. Allow your intentions to flow from your heart. Lean your cheek on the bark and listen for the stones to strike together with an answer.
1. knock is yes, 2 knocks is no, 3 knocks is unknown
Break hand contact with the tree and step back. Thank the Oracle Tree for the information and say a heartfelt goodbye. You know magic is real. You dared to seek to penetrate and interpret the secrets, currents of existence by communing with the natural, unseen energies.
Remember to record everything you felt, heard and saw in your Book of Shadows.
MERRY WE PART, 'TILL MERRY WE MEET AGAIN")
Oracle Trees are not man-made, but are old and are found. The trees are aged with personality as well as wisdom and can be consulted and a response given.
There are only two types of tress: active/solar - day, air and fire trees, and passive/ lunar - night, water and earth trees.
I suggest you gain knowledge of your oracle tree: the ogham, element, rank, personality opposites, God form even the Tarot Equivalent. Your effort will enhance your magic. (Can find ogham chart in the book-The 21 Lessons of Merlyn. God form and Tarot equivalent on my site on the Celtic Activity page.)
Oracle Trees are lines of communication between mankind, the plant kingdom and immortal spiritual beings. The trees are visited to attain knowledge when one is dissatisfied with materialism, a need to heal emotionally, spiritually, mentally and physically, or to increase eco-consciousness.
Let us, then, step into the woods or backyard and find your own personal Oracle Tree - hollow and accessible with an opening in the trunk above the ground. The right tree will 'make itself known to you' when encountered.
Venture and find a tree and summon the wood spirit to share their strength - blending the energies to help. Call upon the Spirit of the wood to make the its will known through the Oracle Tree. Understand it is not the tree itself supplying the requested advice, but simply acting as a channel. Pose your question, and the reason you need to know.
Knock three times upon the trunk and request: Spirit of the wood, I summon thee.
After greeting the tree, wrap both arms around the trunk to blend the energies. Relax a few minutes. Breathe air in through your nose, down into your lungs, into your entire body, then exhale out your mouth.
Every living thing has unique energies sensitive to the frequencies or vibrations of every other energies. The tree can give an energy boost.
Feel the tree's energy moving into your arms and hands, flow toward your shoulders, approach your abdomen and travel down and up your legs. Absorb the energy through your joints and filter into every cell to remove tensions.
When you become refreshed, close your eyes, and SAY: Ancient one of Earth, your power residing, here in the tree, requesting your energy to combine with mine - for patience in my pursuits, calming, impulsive, nature requesting you share your strength. Here my call, ancient wood spirit.
Listen for a message.
Thank the tree for sharing their strength and wisdom Inhale deep breaths of air to adjust your energies. Say thank you for the oxygen which you breathe in and say my gift to you is carbon dioxide I breathe out.
Leave a small creature a treat-bird seed or bread crumbs around the base of the trunk to feed fellow nature friends.
Trees are sacred. Trees link heaven and earth together. The leaves and branches reach and stretch up to the sun. The potent energy of life lives in the trunk and roots.
Trees are the very core of a wise woman's philosophy. The branches represent grandparents, parents, uncles, cousins, nephews, sisters, brothers, any outside experiences and influences that enter ones life. The trunk, strength, attitude, and individual personality. The roots, beliefs, foundations and subconscious. The roots support the trunk, the branches reach out and have effect on all they come in contact with.

From the second side - life is viewed with cynical eye of experience, understanding it is what it is.
The third side - life is viewed with the significance of age - endless memories.
The fourth side is completely horrible - unimaginable violence.

The principle of earth ( to included under a class as belonging) within itself the whole divine cosmos. The meaning of all things.-the physical world or the body. It represents the entity where spirit is "ensouled"
Trees are perennial plant with a single trunk or stem that branches some distance from the ground; there are some trees with more than one trunk.
A tree has a major role in nature. It can break the winds and prevent soil erosion. A tree reduces CO2 by directly removing carbon from air. A healthy tree can reduce airborne dust particles thus is considered a purifier. One large tree can provide a day's oxygen for up to four people. Trees don't die of old age, they die of environmental stress. Insects, disease, poisoning the soil, vandalism and construction damage are a few of stresses imposed upon them.
There is no known way to reverse the dieing process.
Trees have a partnership with the basic elemental tools - earth, air, fire and water. Trees need rain water to penetrate the earth and feeds the roots. The tree absorbs the sun and rain that feeds the soil to create a structure solid in physical form. The leaf is one of the chief vegetative organs of a plant, leaves are the ultimate basis of most animal life.
The ancient Celts had a strong affinity with trees. Trees are thought of as beings with ranks of spirits and nobility.
The Druids were the ancient Celtic priesthood of Gaul, Britain, and Ireland. The Celts had a similar organization for women. Although Dryad is described in the Merriam- Webster dictionary as a wood nymph, a Dryad is the correct term regarding a female shamans of the period.
Historical writings suggest Dryads lived in sacred groves and were part of the very old goddess religions. The wise women attempted to seek harmony with visible, invisible and to understand the forces that rule the cosmos.
Druids and Dryads did not stage a challenge to endanger human, animal or plant life, but improve the quality of their existence.
Trees are haunts of witches.
You need not be a witch - that's just me. Every person has magical powers. People of every walk of life are capable and naturally able to tap into streams of invisible energy that permeate the world. We are all comprised of energy. Energy is everywhere. Many live their lives without being aware of their abilities.
The next few blogs I would like to share some of my activities involving Oracle Trees to remove mental blocks, outdated thought patterns-people and behaviours or to clear the every day madness from the mind.
